You are standing in a crowd of billions, waiting for your judgment. Your whole life is in a book, and you are praying for even one good deed to save you. On that day, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the man who you claim to love, will be standing before Allah. He does not look at you with pride. He does not smile. His heart is broken. He will not be talking about how much you prayed, fasted or listing your good deeds.  FAJR REMINDER: THE FALL OF THE HEROES By: Umm Affan Jumādā al-Ākhirah 1, 1447 (22-November-2025) Do you recall the story of the three Muslim commanders involved in the Battle of Mu’tah? They are among the heroes who fell in this significant battle in Syria, which witnessed the Romans mobilizing approximately 200,000 warriors. Let’s revisit the circumstances that led to this confrontation. The Prophet (ﷺ) had sent his companion Ḥārith Ibn Umayr (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) with a letter directed to the governor of Buṣra. Upon reaching Mu’tah, he was met by Sharjīl Ibn Amr Ghassani, who, upon realizing that Ḥārith was a messenger of the Prophet (ﷺ) en route to Shām, ordered his execution. Deeply distressed by this act, the Prophet (ﷺ) gathered a substantial army to avenge his death. Zayd Ibn Ḥārithah, Ja’far Ibn Abī Ṭālib, and ‘Abdullāh Ibn Rawāḥah fought valiantly, carrying the flag until they achieved martyrdom (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhum).  FAJR REMINDER: DAJJĀL AND THE TRIAL OF KNOWLEDGE By: Umm Affan Jumādā al-’Ūlā 30, 1447 (21-November-2025) Knowledge is power! Indeed, individuals will be tested by Dajjāl through the knowledge he presents, which is fraught with deceit and falsehood. The term Dajjāl is from the verb “Dajala,” meaning to intentionally confuse and obfuscate matters. Consequently, Dajjāl becomes a title for the lying, one-eyed, false Masīḥ. He is referred to as Dajjāl because he will conceal his Kufr (disbelief) from the people by employing lies, vague statements, deception, and confusion. This manipulation will be facilitated by the fact that many individuals during that time will be empty and worthless people, intellectually shallow, and lacking in opulence regarding intelligence. A minute old dies, and indeed, some do not make it to this world. One of the great mysteries of death is that none of us can predict when, where, or in what condition it will strike us. When the appointed time arrives, there will be no delay. Allāh states: “To every people is an appointed term; when their term is reached, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment).” [Sūrah Al-A’raf (7): 34] This journey is inevitable. However, it becomes a significant concern when a Muslim engages in wrongful behavior.  According to the moral teachings found in both the Qur'ān and the Sunnah, as conveyed by our righteous predecessors and respected scholars today, there is a pressing issue when Muslims behave inappropriately. Regrettably, some individuals identify as Muslims with names and appearances reflecting Islām, yet they lack a genuine comprehension of its principles. Unfortunately, we witness some Muslims indulging in behaviors such as backbiting, suspicion, spying, defamation, and insults toward others.  A Reminder We All Forget… One day, the heartbeat you never noticed will beat for the last time. The breath you just took without thinking will be your final breath. Your name will be mentioned in silence. Your clothes will belong to someone else. Your phone will ring, but you won’t be there to answer. People will cry… then life will go on. And you, you’ll be lying in a place you never visited, wrapped in a cloth you never bought, surrounded by darkness you never imagined. At that moment, nothing will matter not your followers, not your money, not your beauty, not your pride. Only your deeds. Only your salah. Only your heart. Only what you did for Allah. *DISCUSSION OF THE INDIVIDUAL LETTERS AT THE BEGINNING OF SŪRAH* ALLĀH, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful says; > *الم (Alif Lam Mim)* The individual letters in the beginning of some Surahs are among those things whose knowledge ALLĀH has kept only for Himself. This was reported from Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali and Ibn Mas'ud. It was said that these letters are the names of some of the Surahs. It was also said that they are the beginnings that ALLĀH chose to start the Surahs of the Qur'an with. Khasif stated that Mujahid said, "The beginnings of the Surahs, such as Qāf, Sād, Ṭā Sīn Mīm and Alif Lām Rā, are just some letters of the alphabet." Some linguists also stated that; they are letters of the alphabet and that ALLĀH simply did not cite the entire alphabet of twenty-eight letters. For instance, they said, one might say, "My son recites Alif, Ba, Ta, Tha..." he means the entire alphabet although he stops before mentioning the rest of it. This opinio...

 *THE PROHIBITION OF KILLING CHILDREN* ALLĀH says, > *وَلَا تَقۡتُلُوٓاْ أَوۡلَٰدَكُم مِّنۡ إِمۡلَٰقٍۖ* > *Do not kill your children (male or female) for fear of poverty.* That is, because you are worried about how to provide for them, as happened during the jahiliyah when hard-heartedness and injustice prevailed. If they are prohibited to kill their own children in this situation, then killing their children for no reason, or killing the children of others, is even more emphatically prohibited, for > *نَّحۡنُ نَرۡزُقُكُمۡ وَإِيَّاهُمۡۖ* > *WE provide for you and for them.* That is, WE have guaranteed the provision of all. You are not the ones who provide for your children or even for yourselves, so there is no need to worry about them. *{Tafsi‌r As-Sa'di}* #sadi #Anam (6:151)

 *BASMALLĀH IS RECOMMENDED BEFORE PERFORMING ANY DEED* Basmalāh (reciting Bismillāh) is recommended before starting any action or deed. For instance, - Basmalāh is recommended before starting a Khutbah (speech). - The Basmalāh is also recommended before one enters the place where he wants to relieve himself, there is a Hadith concerning this practice. - Further, Basmalāh is recommended at the beginning of ablution, for Imam Ahmad and the Sunan compilers recorded that Abu Hurayrah, Said bin Zayd and Abu Said narrated from the Prophet (ﷺ): *"There is no valid ablution for he who did not mention ALLAH'S Name in it".* This Hadith is Hasan (good). Also, the Basmalāh is recommended before eating, for Muslim recorded in his Sahih that the Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said to Umar bin Abi Salamah while he was a child under his care: *"Say Bismillāh, eat with your right hand and eat from whatever is next to you."* Some of the scholars stated that Basmalāh before eating is obli...

 *THE PROHIBITION OF INSULTING THE FALSE gods OF THE DISBELIEVERS IS TO PREVENT THEM FROM INSULTING ALLĀH* ALLĀH says, > *وَلَا تَسُبُّوا۟ ٱلَّذِینَ یَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَیَسُبُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عَدۡوَۢا بِغَیۡرِ عِلۡمࣲۗ كَذَ ٰ⁠لِكَ زَیَّنَّا لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ عَمَلَهُمۡ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِم مَّرۡجِعُهُمۡ فَیُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ* > *Do not insult what they invoke besides ALLĀH or they will insult ALLĀH spitefully out of ignorance. This is how WE have made each people’s deeds appealing to them. Then to their Lord is their return, and HE will inform them of what they used to do.* Here ALLĀH forbids the believers to do something that had originally been permissible and even prescribed, which is reviling the gods of the polytheists, which they took as idols and gods besides ALLĀH, as scorning and reviling them was a means of drawing closer to ALLĀH.  *RETALIATION FOR WOUNDS* ALLĀH said,    > *وَالْجُرُوحَ قِصَاصٌ*  > *and wounds equal for equal.* Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn Abbas said: "Life for life, an eye for an eye, a nose, if cut off, for a nose, a tooth broken for a tooth and wounds equal for wound." The free Muslims, men and women, are equal in this matter. And their slaves, male and female, are equal in this matter. And this ruling is the same regarding intentional murder and lesser offenses, as Ibn Jarir and Ibn Abi Hatim recorded. *AN IMPORTANT RULING* The retaliation for wounds should not be implemented until the wounds of the victim heal. If retaliation occurs before the wound heals, and then the wound becomes aggravated, the victim will have no additional rights in this case. What will we bring to Allah? What kind of companion are we inviting to be visiting us in our graves? Music? Muslim Faithful, Our hearts are like a clean glass. But this world is dusty. Every day, dust gets in. The dust of bad thoughts, bad habits, backbiting, gossip, watching haram programs on TVs and small or big sins. This dust makes our hearts dirty. A dirty heart does not listen easily. When the heart is dirty, we find it hard to obey Allah. We do things we know we shouldn't. It feels like a struggle. But Allah did not leave us like this. He sent us a perfect cleaner for our hearts. That cleaner is the Qur'an. And Guess what? The best part of it is that, you don't even need to understand the Arabic words right now. Yes. Right now, someone cannot pass urine or go to the toilet without a doctor's help. Right now, someone is finding it hard to even swallow their own saliva.
