*THE MESSENGERS OF QURAISH*
A man of Kināna said: "Let me go to him (the Prophet)." When he approached the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) and his Companions, he said: "This man coming over there belongs to a tribe which holds the sacrificial animals in high regard. Send them to him." After they sent them, he said: "No, these people should gain admittance to the Sacred House." Then he returned to Quraish and said: "I saw their cattle and camels, with objects hung around their necks and their humps bleeding. I suggest that they shouldn't be prevented from (entering the Holy Masjid)." 'Urwah Ibn Mas'ūd Ath-Thaqafy said: "This man (the Prophet) offered a wise proposal to you. So accept it and let me go to him." He went to the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) and began to speak to him. But he said the same words as he said to Budail. Thereupon 'Urwah said: "How come you annihilate your people? Have you ever heard that someone devastated his tribesmen? If they fought you, those humble people would flee away and abandon you." Abu Bakr chided him saying: "Shut up, impossible to abandon him!" He asked: "Who is that speaking?" They said: "Abu Bakr." He said: "If I hadn't rewarded you for a favour you did me, I would have returned your insult." Then he went on talking to the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) grabbing his beard while Al-Mughīra Ibn Shu'bah was beside the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) holding his sword and wearing a head armour. Whenever 'Urwah stretched his hand to hold the Prophet's beard, Al-Mughīra struck his hand by the back of the sheath of his sword and said: "Oh, you betrayer. Don't I try hard to settle your differences by my wealth?" (Al-Mughīra killed some men he befriended before Islam and seized their money. Then he came to the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) and embraced Islam. The Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) said to him: "I accept your conversion to Islam. But I am in no need of the money you have." ('Urwah was Al-Mughīra's paternal uncle).
'Urwah stared at the Prophet's Companions and admired their veneration for him. So when he returned to his fellows, he said: "I have visited kings like Caesar and Khosrau and Negus. But I have never seen people exalting and venerating kings more than Muhammad's Companions do him. Whenever he forced out an expectoration, they would receive it by their palms and anoint their faces and skin with it. They always obeyed his orders. When he performs Wudhu (ablution), they would dispute the water if he uses for Wudhu (ablution). When he talks, they lower their voices. They couldn't stare at him in reverence for him. He submitted a judicious proposal to you. I see that you should accept it."

*"And keep reminding, because reminding benefits the believers."* (Qur-ān 51:55)
