Surah Aal-e-Imran, Verse 123 and 124

*Surah Aal-e-Imran, Verse 123:*

وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

And Allah has already made you victorious at Badr, when you were a weak little force. So fear Allah much [abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden and love Allah much, perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained] that you may be grateful.

*COMMENTARY*

Gratitude to is Allāh is not to be measured by words. It should show itself in conduct and life. If all the Muslims had learnt the true lessons from the victory at Badr, their archers would not have left the posts appointed for them, nor the two tribes mentioned in the last commentary ever wavered in their faith.

*Surah Aal-e-Imran, Verse 124:*

إِذْ تَقُولُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَلَن يَكْفِيَكُمْ أَن يُمِدَّكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِثَلَاثَةِ آلَافٍ مِّنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ مُنزَلِينَ

(Remember) when you (Muhammad [Blessings and Peace of Allāh be upon him]) said to the believers, "Is it not enough for you that your Lord (Allah) should help you with three thousand angels; sent down?"
