*Part 81*
*THE MUSLIM ARMY ADVANCE TOWARDS BADR*
Allāh's Messenger moved out with an army which was not fully prepared or equipped. He left Madīnah and followed the main route leading to Mecca then they reached the well of Ar-Rawhāa. When he carried on advancing, he left the route of Mecca to left and changed their course to right passing along An-Nāziyah, towards Badr. They followed one of its direction and crossed a wadi called Ruhqāh between An-Nāziyah and the strait of As-Safraa. Then the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) sent Basbas Ibn 'Amr and 'Adeyy Ibn Abu Az-Zaghbāa to collect information on the caravan.
THE ALARM IS SOUNDED IN MECCA
Abu Sufyān, who was responsible for the caravan was very alert and watchful. He realised that the route of Mecca would be filled with dangers. Thus he was seeking information and asking riders he met on his way about any suspicious movements. According to his intelligence, he knew that Muhammad mobilised an army of his followers and planned to attack the caravan. He, thereupon, hired Damdam Ibn 'Amr Al-Ghifāry and ordered him to go off to Mecca and ask Quraish to set out to protect their caravan from Muhammad (Blessings and Peace be upon him) and his followers. He quickly reached Mecca and then he cut off his nose, reversed his saddled and tore up his shirt then stood on the back of his she-camel shouting: "O community of Quraish! Your camels carry your best property that is under Abu Sufyān will be captured by Muhammad (Blessings and Peace be upon him) and his followers. I think that you may miss it. Help! Help!"
*{To be continued In-sha-Allāh (If Allāh Wills)...}*
*"And keep reminding, because reminding benefits the believers."* (Qur'an 51:55)
