 FAJR REMINDER: SITTING TOGETHER FOR HIS SAKE By: Umm Affān Shawwāl 6, 1447 (25-March-2026) A few days ago, I mentioned a Ḥadīth in which the Prophet (ﷺ) highlighted four actions through which a servant can attain the Love of Allāh. I have already discussed the first, and today I will focus on the second: SITTING TOGETHER FOR ALLĀH’S SAKE. Indeed, Allāh’s Love is guaranteed for those who gather solely for His Sake—not for business dealings, political discussions, social engagements, idle talk, or worldly chatter. Rather, their coming together is driven by a sincere desire to please Him.  Habibi don’t be afraid of poverty when it comes to marriage. “إن يكونوا فقراء يغنهم الله من فضله” If they are poor, Allah will enrich them from His فضل… How many people delay marriage, not because they are not ready in faith or character, but because they fear provision? As if رزق is in their hands… as if wealth is guaranteed by waiting. al-Qurtubi reminded us clearly: do not hold back from marriage due to poverty, whether from the man or the woman.  🌸 *What to Do Series*🌸 by Asma bint Shameem   ❓*QUESTION*❓ *Can I COMBINE the niyyah of fasting the six days of Shawwaal with my days that I owe from Ramadhaan?* 🌿*ANSWER*🌿 There’s a difference of opinion among the scholars about this issue  But the *stronger* scholarly opinion is that you cannot combine the intention of fasting the six days of Shawwaal with the missed days of Ramadhaan.  Rather you must first make up the missed days of fasting of Ramadhaan THEN fast the six days of Shawwaal.  That's because these Shawwaal fasts are SPECIFIC and CONNECTED to the fasts of Ramadhaan.  *And one cannot combine those ibaadaat that are “specific” or “connected” to each other*  For example, if someone wants to pray two rak’aat at the time of Fajr with the intention to combine the two Sunnah with the two Fardh, obviously that's not valid.  That's because the Sunnah of Fajr is “specific”and “directly connected” to the Fardh of Fajr, and cannot ta...

Among the noble actions that lead to His Love is what is mentioned in an authentic Ḥadīth. Mu’ādh Ibn Jabal (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said: “Allāh Almighty said: My Love is assured for those who love each other for My Sake, who sit together for My Sake, who visit each other for My Sake, and who spend on each other for My Sake.” [Musnad Aḥmad 22030] Subḥānallāh!
