AS SALAAMU ALAYKUM WARAHMATULLAH WABARAKAATUHU. LET'S START TONIGHT'S EDUCATION. OUR TOPIC IS 👇. *COMMENTARY AND TAFSIR OF THE VERSES OF THE GLORIOUS QURAN (Episode 122)*Saturday 30 August 2025. 7 Rabi"ul-Awwal 1447 AH
__*PAGE 1*__.
✍️...
▪ Amr bin Shu’ayb narrated from his father that his grandfather said: Allah’s Messenger ﷺ was asked about the hanging clusters of dates. He said: *“There is no harm for whoever takes some of it in his mouth for a necessity without putting it in his garment.”*
▪ “Allah ﷻ is pardoning for what has been eaten of the unlawful, and Merciful in that He allowed the prohibited during times of necessity.
▪ *Masruq said, “Whoever is in dire need, but does not eat or drink until he dies, he will enter the Fire.”*
*This indicates that eating dead animals for those who are in need of it for survival is not only permissible but required.*
____*PAGE 2*____.

*Let's continue on this verse*👇. *2.178*
*....But if something of a murderer’s guilt is remitted by his brother this should be adhered to in fairness, and payment be made in a goodly manner.* *This is an alleviation and a mercy from your Lord; and for him who commits excess after that there is a painful chastisement.*...2.178
__*PAGE 3*__.
✍️...
▪ The very use of the word 'brother' in this context suggests that as a general rule one ought to incline towards leniency. _Despite the bitterness felt towards someone who has shed the blood of, say, one's father, the murderer is still one's brother by virtue of being a member of the human family_
▪ If the deceased’s family demand murder for murder but the murderer acknowledges his sin and accepts being guilty, requests them to forgive his sin and take blood money instead then it should be accepted.
▪ For the crime that has been committed and the forgiveness that the murderer desires to save his own life, he must compensate the injured party.
____*PAGE 4*____.
✍️...
Therefore, Allah ﷻ says,
*“But whoever overlooks from his brother anything, then there should be a suitable follow-up and payment to him with good conduct.”*
▪ Whether or not the murderer seeks forgiveness, the aggrieved party too can relent on its own and forgive the qisas. However, this does not forgive the offence.
_*It will become necessary for the killer to pay diyah [blood money] as fixed, in a fair manner, and promptly.*_
____*PAGE 5*____.
✍️...
In this ayah, Allah ﷻ teaches us the etiquette of accepting blood money.
He ﷻ says *then there should be a suitable follow-up*
_meaning when the relative agrees to take the blood money, he should collect his rightful dues with kindness_. *“…and payment to him with good conduct…”* _meaning, the killer should accept the terms of settlement without causing further harm or resisting the payment_
_*The law of blood-money and pardon is a relief granted by Allah ﷻ in His grace, otherwise, there would have been no choice but to face the punishment of death.*_
__*PAGE 6*__.
✍️...
▪ In the end, the ayah points out that wise people should have no difficulty in seeing that the law of even retaliation does not take life,
▪ instead, it gives life, for such a deterrent law will make people fear the punishment of killing somebody and thus lives will be saved. *“This is alleviation from your Lord and a mercy,”*
▪ The earlier nations did not have this legislation.
_Sa’eed bin Mansur reported that Ibn ‘Abbas radhiAllahu ‘anhu said,_
*“The Children of Israel were required to apply the qisas in murder cases and were not allowed to offer pardons (in return for blood money).”*
____*PAGE 7*____.
✍️...
Allah ﷻ had mercy on this Ummah by giving them the diyah which was not allowed for any nation before it.
▪ The Jews were allowed to either apply the penal code (for murder, i.e., execution) or to pardon the killer, but they were not allowed to take blood money.
▪ The Christians were required to pardon (the killer, but no diyah was legislated).
▪ This Ummah (Muslims) is allowed to apply the penal code (execution) or to pardon and accept the blood money.
____*PAGE 8*____.
✍️...
*“So after this whoever transgresses the limits, he shall have a painful torment,”*
_Note that while there is a law to take revenge, forgiveness is still most desimos
_If a person forgives another in this world then Allah ﷻ will forgive him too for his sins and raise in his status._
__*PAGE 9*__.
✍️...
*Let's continue on this verse*👇. *Al-Baqara.179*
*وَ لَـكُمۡ فِى الۡقِصَاصِ حَيٰوةٌ يّٰٓـاُولِىۡ الۡاَلۡبَابِ لَعَلَّکُمۡ تَتَّقُوۡنَ *
*(2:179) People of understanding, there is life for you in retribution that you may guard yourselves against violating the Law.*
____*PAGE 10*____.
✍️...
_In the rule of Qisas, we learned that if someone kills an innocent person then he (the murderer) too should be killed unless the deceased’s heirs choose to forgive him_
▪ Someone might say that one person was killed and in order to take his revenge another life has to be lost.
But Allah ﷻ tells us the opposite:
*“And there is for you in legal retribution [saving of] life,”*
▪ legislating the law of killing the murderer, carries great benefits.
