 *THE DELUSION OF THIS WORLD*

As humans, we are all naturally inclined towards the glamour of this world. It is something that has set inside the depths of our hearts, tempting us in every phase of our life. This is the test of life. The irony is that the dead had once also worked this hard to leave their mark upon this world, only to be forgotten by the living. As a result we are left with graveyards full of graves, but with only a handful of the living to remember them.

Sayyidina Ali _رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ_ said,

١) *فَلَمْ أَرَ كَالدُّنْيَا بِمَا اغْتَرَّ أَهْلُهَا، وَلَا كَالْيَقِينِ اسْتَأْنَسَ الدَّهْرُ صَاحِبَهُ

1. I have never seen something as strange as this world  

- How gullibly its dwellers are tricked by its deception I have never seen something like the likes of certain death               

- To the temporary times, its customers have given all their affection  

٢) *أَمُرُّ عَلَى رَأْسِ الْقَرِيبِ كَأَنَّنِي، أَمُرُّ عَلَى رَأْسِ امْرِئٍ لَا أُؤَانِسُهُ*

2. It is strange how I can pass over a relative’s grave               

- As if I am passing by a person with whom I have no connection.
