*Wrong Blaming*
[[-Fifth Outing-]]------------------
According to a line of transmission of other than that of al-Tirmidhi, it reads:
*"Keep Allah in mind and you will find Him in front of you. Get acquainted with Allah in times of ease and He will know you in days of distress. Know that what missed you could not have hit you, and what hit you could not have missed you. Know that victory comes with patience, relief follows distress, ease follows hardship"*.
Now,
Everything about *"Life"* is a test. This implies that, there will be challenges and trials for the believer. Perhaps, it is in difficulty that the strength and power of the Prophet’s words shine brightest. Yes. In Islam, *"Hardship"* is never meant to break us.
Allah (swt) says in the Quran:
"We shall certainly test you with fear and hunger, and loss of property, lives, and crops. But give good news to those who are steadfast. Those who say, when afflicted with a calamity, ‘We belong to God and to Him we shall return.’ These will be given blessings and mercy from their Lord, and it is they who are rightly guided. 📚(Al-Baqarah 2:155-157)
So,
Instead of grumbling, complaining around & about, for every slightest misfortunes that strike us, it's better to understand that no good or harm, no matter how inevitable it seems, can befall us unless Allah wills.
My People,
When we rely only on Allah, and increase our patience in all situations, the end result will be successess... eg - When Prophet Ibrahim was about to be burned alive after destroying the idols of his people, the angel Jibreel came to him and asked him, *“Do you need help?” Ibrahim replied, “From you? No. As for Allah? Then yes!”* - And in the end, Allah (swt) did not allow the fire to burn prophet Ibrahim (a.s)
Evidence:
"Allah said, "O fire, be coolness and safety upon Abraham." 📚Al-Anbiya 21:69
Furthermore,
We should all believe in Qadr (divine decree) - that's, knowing & believing that what has passed you by, was not going to benefit you. In other words, Allah is in control of our affairs and creates means and outcomes. This does not mean that Muslims are fatalists, but that, with complete and total trust in Allah, whenever difficulties/sadness occurs, we have trust in Allah although we take the means available to us.
Now,
*How do we balance destiny with planning in life and our actions?*
The Prophet (pbuh) reminded us:
‘If something befalls you, do not say, ‘If only I had done otherwise,’ but rather say, ‘Allah’s Will be done,’ for *'‘if only’'* opens the door to Satan’s mischief.’ 📚(Bukhari)
Servants of Allah!
Our duty is to work to the best of our ability, utilizing the means around us and ultimately having trust in Allah (swt). And sometimes, this will require us to pursue something and never give up, and sometimes it will require us to take a different route. How do we know which is the ‘correct’ way?
Sometimes there is no way to....
