Commentary: In yesterday's reminder, we studied about the joyful faces after judgement. In contrast, another group will have faces covered with dust, darkened with grief, disgrace, and humiliation.  FAJR REMINDER: DENYING ALLĀH'S EXCLUSIVE LORDSHIP By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 29, 1448 (14-July-2026) Not everyone who affirms the Existence of Allāh truly affirms His Lordship as it deserves to be affirmed. Sadly, some believe in Allāh's Existence, yet also claim that certain so-called great saints—referred to in Ṣūfī terminology as “Qutb”—possess authority over the affairs of the universe. Such a belief contradicts the fundamental creed that Allāh (alone) is the Wakīl (Trustee, Disposer of affairs, Guardian, etc.) over all creation, and that everything occurs only by His Will, Knowledge, and Decree. Ironically, this belief is even more misguided than that of the pagan Arabs at the time of the Prophet (ﷺ). Although they associated partners with Allāh in worship, they never denied that He alone controlled the affairs of the heavens and the earth. We would have been born there. But here is the truth. Paradise has different levels. Some homes there are small. Some are huge, like palaces. Now,  Imagine if Allah (swt) put us all in Paradise today. He then says, "You get this very small house. But you over there, you get that giant, beautiful mansion." We would all ask, "Why?  FAJR REMINDER: THE PEAK OF ARROGANCE By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 28, 1448 (13-July-2026) Atheism is not the only path by which a person denies the Existence of Allāh. Among the most outrageous acts that nullify one's Islām and Eemān is for a human being to claim the right of divinity, declaring himself to be God (Allāh) or worthy of worship which belongs to Allāh alone. Such a claim is the peak of arrogance, for it is a direct assault upon the exclusive Right of the Creator. This was the crime of Fir‘aun, although he was never a believer. Blinded by power, intoxicated by authority, and deceived by his own pride, he dared to utter the words that no created being has any right to say. Allāh (ﷻ) informs us that he declared: “I am your lord, most high.” [Sūrah An-Nāzi‘āt (79): 24] That statement did not come suddenly. Surah 'Abasa concludes by transporting us from the blessings of this world to the overwhelming reality of the Day of Judgement. After reminding us of ALLAH’S favours and HIS provision, ALLAH Azzawajal now reminds us of the Day when every soul will stand before HIM. Verse 33: "Then, when the Deafening Blast comes." The "Ṣākhkhah" is one of the names of the Trumpet blast that will herald the Day of Resurrection. Verses 27–31:  ALLAH Azzawajal lists various types of vegetation HE causes to grow on land from: Grain (ḥabb): staple foods such as wheat, barley, rice, and similar crops. Grapes ('inab): delicious fruits enjoyed fresh or dried. Fresh vegetation (qaḍb): tender plants and vegetables consumed by people and animals. Olives (zaytūn): a blessed food and source of beneficial oil. Date palms (nakhl): among the most honoured trees in Islam, providing highly nutritious fruit.  FAJR REMINDER: EVEN SHAYṬĀN KNOWS HIS LORD By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 27, 1448 (12-July-2026) Many Muslims are careful to protect their ablution because they know that without it, their Ṣalāh is invalid. The moment they lose their ablution, they hasten to renew it before standing before their Lord. Yet, how many of us give the same level of concern to the matters that invalidate our Islām and Eemān? Just as there are acts that nullify one's ablution, there are also beliefs, statements, and actions that nullify a person's faith. These nullifiers are not minor matters. They are among the gravest dangers a Muslim can face because they threaten the very foundation of one's relationship with Allāh. They may be classified into four major categories. The first category is the denial of Allāh's Existence or speaking about Him with rejection, falsehood, or slander. In fact, Angels carry the attendance register every night. So never miss even for one night without waking up for Tahajjud. Do it until the end of your life. Now, Any Nafil prayer established after ishai prayer (before you sleep) is called Qiyamul-lail. Any Nafil prayer established when you wake up from sleep (after ishai prayer) is called Tahajjud. The two Nafil are good but Tahajjud is more rewarding because only the determined Muslims can wake from sleep just for Allah (swt). Rain falls from the sky in precisely the amount and at the time ALLAH Azzawajal wills. The earth, which appears hard and lifeless, splits open as tiny seeds germinate and emerge.  FAJR REMINDER: A JOURNEY THAT BUILT CHARACTER AND BROTHERHOOD By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 26, 1448 (11-July-2026) The Hijrah of the Prophet (ﷺ) also teaches us a timeless lesson in honesty and integrity. Although many of the Quraysh rejected the Prophet‘s (ﷺ) message and fiercely opposed him, they still entrusted their most valuable possessions to him because they knew him as the most trustworthy of people. As he prepared to migrate to Madīnah, the Prophet (ﷺ) instructed ‘Alī (Raḍiyallāhu 'Anhu) to remain behind and return every trust to its rightful owner before joining him. Allāh Akbar! Even those who persecuted him were not deprived of their rights. Allāh (ﷻ) says: “And verily, you (O Muḥammad ﷺ) are on an exalted standard of character.” [Sūrah Al-Qalam (68): 4] The testimony to the Prophet's noble character did not come from people alone—it also came from the One Who created him.   The Story of the Gift Trays ​There was a pious man who used to regularly visit the graveyard to pray, make dua , and seek forgiveness for his deceased parents and the other inhabitants of the graves. ​One day, after performing his prayers, he felt incredibly fatigued and fell asleep right there among the graves. While asleep, he had a vivid, spiritual dream. ​He saw the graves split open, and the deceased emerged.  FAJR REMINDER: THE DIRECTION THAT UNITES EVERY MUSLIM By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 25, 1448 (10-July-2026) Every time a Muslim prepares to stand before Allāh (ﷻ) in Ṣalāt, one important condition must first be fulfilled: facing the Qiblah, the direction of the Ka‘bah. For the one who is close enough to see the Ka‘bah, he must look towards it before beginning his prayer to ensure he is truly facing it. As for the one who is far away and cannot see it, he faces its direction because that is the utmost of his ability. This is why, whenever a Muslim arrives in a new town, city, or country, one of the very first things he seeks is the direction of the Qiblah. Before settling into his surroundings, before becoming familiar with the place, he wants to know where to stand when it is time to meet his Lord. Now pause for a moment and reflect.
