BismilLah Let's continue with our studies of suurah An-Naazi'aat from verse 35 to 41 which speaks about "The fate of the people of Paradise and Hell". Verse 35. ALLAH Azzawajal says: يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنسَانُ مَا سَعَىٰ “On the Day when every human being will remember what he or she strove for.” Qur’an 79:35. This verse is short, but it carries a very powerful warning. It follows immediately after ALLAH Azzawajal mentions At-Ṭāmmah Al-Kubrā, the Greatest Catastrophe, the Day of Resurrection from the previous verse 34 we studied yesterday.  What does “what he strove for” mean? The Arabic expression مَا سَعَىٰ (mā saʿā) refers to what a person worked for, pursued, struggled for and exerted himself to achieve throughout their life. Yes. Ibn Abi Adi said that Dawud bin Abi Hind fasted for forty years without his family knowing. He used to take his lunch with him from home. He would give it away as charity on the way, and then return home in the evening to break his fast with his family. My people! This emphasises that when you perform a good deed, it does not need to be revealed unless necessary. After describing the blessings we enjoy in this life, HE warns us that a day is coming when this temporary worldly life will come to an end.  FAJR REMINDER: PROTECTING INNOCENCE AND TEACHING MODESTY By: Umm Affān Ṣafar 25, 1448 (9-August-2026) Another important aspect of Tarbiyah al-Awlād (Child Upbringing) that every parent should pay attention to is protecting their children's innocence while gradually teaching them appropriate boundaries between the two sexes. This does not mean exposing children to adult concepts before they are ready. Rather, it means teaching them, in an Islāmic and age-appropriate manner, about safety, modesty, privacy, and self-respect. This aspect of upbringing includes teaching children about ‘Awrah (private parts) naturally when dressing or undressing, helping them understand that “My body is mine, and I can say no,” using correct and respectful language when speaking about the body, and teaching them the importance of privacy when using the bathroom, changing clothes, or getting dressed.  Parents should also gently prepare boys and girls for puberty, explaining Ḥayā’ (modesty) as an asp...

BismilLah Let's continue with our studies of suurah An-Naazi'aat from verse 32-33. Verse 32 وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا "And the mountains ALLAH firmly set." ALLAH Azzawajal firmly established the mountains to serve the functions HE willed within the earth. The mountains are signs of ALLAH’S greatness and wisdom. They contribute to the earth's stability by ALLAH’S decree and remind us of HIS power. Verse 33 مَتَـٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ "As provision for you and your livestock." Everything mentioned in these verses was created as a blessing and provision for humanity and the animals upon which people depend.  FAJR REMINDER: THE FIVE LEVELS OF PRAYER By: Umm Affān Ṣafar 23, 1448 (7-August-2026) Ṣalāt is not merely a physical act of standing, bowing, and prostrating; it is an intimate act of worship in which the heart stands before Allāh. Yet, the quality of a person’s Ṣalāt can differ greatly from one believer to another. Imām Ibn al-Qayyim (Raḥimahullāh) beautifully underscored this reality by describing five levels of people according to their attentiveness, sincerity, and presence of heart during Ṣalāt. [Check Al-Wābil Aṣ-Ṣayyib min al-Kalim Aṭ-Ṭayyib pg. 55-56] With your prayer, you fall into one of these ranks. The question is: Where do you stand, and how can you rise? 1. The Negligent This person wrongs himself by being careless with Wuḍū’, the prayer times, their limits, and essential pillars. Verse 30 وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَا "And after that He spread out the earth." The word "dahāhā" means that ALLAH Azzawajal spread, prepared, and made the earth suitable for human life. It does not mean that the earth was created only after the heavens; rather, according to the classical scholars, its preparation and furnishing occurred after the heavens were completed.  FAJR REMINDER: YOUR CHILD IS BECOMING WHO YOU RAISE By: Umm Affān Ṣafar 22, 1448 (6-August-2026) Another key aspect of child upbringing in Islām that every Muslim parent must take seriously is moral upbringing. This is where a child gradually learns who they are and, more importantly, who they should strive to become. It is the slow and intentional shaping of manners, virtues, and a sense of responsibility. Through it, children develop qualities such as honesty, patience, self-discipline, kindness, respect, trustworthiness, humility, and modesty in both speech and behavior. Allāh praises the Prophet (ﷺ) for his exceptional character, saying: “And verily, you (O Muḥammad ﷺ) are on an exalted standard of character.” [Sūrah Al-Qalam (68): 4] This reminds us that good character is not separate from our Dīn; it is an essential part of it. This happens to many people. But it does not mean your marriage is broken. Let’s understand why. Marriage is a Sacred Trust (Amaanah). Yes. In Islam, marriage is not a business deal. It is an Amaanah—a holy trust from Allah. Allah offered this trust to the heavens, earth, and mountains, but they were afraid to carry it.
