*Let's start on how this was revealed*👇. *[60:1] Al-Mumtaḥanah-
O believers! Do not make friends with My enemies and your enemies. You communicate to them information because of (your) friendship, whereas they just deny the very truth that has come to you. They drive out the Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) and you (from your land) because you believe in Allah, your Sustainer. If you have set out to fight in My way and seek My pleasure (then do not have friendship with them). You send them secret messages of friendship whilst I know best what you hide and what you make known. And whoever of you does this (misdeed) has deviated from the straight path.

When asked, He begged that he belong not to the quraish but since he feared his relatives being tortured by them so he give these informations to them as a compensation. And that he don't do them as a disbelief but to attain that favour from them. Prophet then said Hatib has spoken the truth but Umar angrily requested Prophet to allow him chop off his head off. As usual the Merciful Prophet declined Umar's suggestion and forgave him for which this verse was revealed.

O believers! Do not step ahead of Allah and His Messenger ([blessings and peace be upon him] in any matter) and keep fearing Allah (lest some discourtesy should occur displeasing the Messenger [blessings and peace be upon him]). Surely, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

The provide verse order them to lower their voices in the presence of the Holy Prophet if not their deeds will be insignificants. Subsequent verse *(Quran 49:2)* also prohibit us not raise our voices than that of Prophet's voice. A renowned Sahada who has a louder is reported to desert Prophet after the revelation of this verse *(Quran 49:2)* fearing his deeds to be fruitless. Prophet inquired as to why he did that, he explained to Prophet for which Prophet assured him that he is an inhabitant of Jannah and that this verse is not against men of his calibre. This verse also goes to us when in the presence of Authorities and elderly people.

*Let's continue on this verse*👇. [2:143] Al-Baqarah-
And, in the same way, (O Muslims,) We made you the best Umma (Community—fair to all with a tolerant, moderate and balanced outlook) so that you may bear witness to the people, and (Our exalted) Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) bears witness to you. And We appointed the Qibla (the direction of Prayer), which you used to face before, only to bring to light (by trial) who would follow (Our) Messenger and who would turn back upon his heels. And this (change of Qibla) was indeed a hard task, but not for those whom Allah blessed with guidance (and gnosis of spiritual truths). And it is not Allah’s Glory to void your faith (without any reason). Allah is surely Most Clement, Ever-Merciful to mankind.

Volume 6, Book 60, Number 13:
Narrated Al-Bara:
The Prophet prayed facing Bait-ulMaqdis (i.e. Jerusalem) for sixteen or seventeen months but he wished that his Qibla would be the Ka'ba (at Mecca). (So Allah Revealed (2.144) and he offered 'Asr prayers(in his Mosque facing Ka'ba at Mecca) and some people prayed with him. A man from among those who had prayed with him, went out and passed by some people offering prayer in another mosque, and they were in the state of bowing. He said, "I, (swearing by Allah,) testify that I have prayed with the Prophet facing Mecca." Hearing that, they turned their faces to the Ka'ba while they were still bowing. Some men had died before the Qibla was changed towards the Ka'ba. They had been killed and we did not know what to say about them (i.e. whether their prayers towards Jerusalem were accepted or not). So Allah revealed:-- "And Allah would never make your faith (i.e. prayer) to be lost (i.e. your prayers offered (towards Jerusalem). Truly Allah is Full of Pity, Most Merciful towards mankind." (2.143)

Muslims earlier prayed facing *Bait-ulMaqdis* for seventeen or sixteen years but wished that the qibla be changed to Ka'ba for which this verse was revealed. So He offered the asr prayer facing the new qibla. One of those people that had prayed with him went out and found some people praying facing the old qibla and informed them. They then turned to the new qibla. The argument arose as to if the prayers of those that died prayed facing the old prayer will be accepted, for which the verse(ending) of *Quran 2:143* was revealed.
