 The dignity of Solaah on the day of Qiyaamah.


As reported in the hadith,

Abu Hurayrah r.a was reported saying,

Prayer said by a man in congregation is twenty five degrees more excellent than prayer said by him alone in his house or in the market. This is because when any of you performs ablution and does it perfectly, and goes out to the mosque having no intention except praying, and nothing moves him except prayer, then at every step which he takes his rank is elevated by one degree on account of this(walking), and one sin is remitted from him for this (walking), till he enters the mosque. When he enters the mosque, he will be reckoned as praying as long as he will be detained by the prayer. The angels keep on invoking blessing on any of you so long as he remains seated in the place he prayer, saying: O Allah, forgive him; O Allah, have mercy on him; O Allah, accept his repentance so long as he does not harm anyone, or breaks his ablution.

This hadith means if one attends to the masjid while in ablution and then sits waiting for the imam is given a reward as if he is praying and the angels will be asking Forgiveness for him as far as he does not pass wind or nullify his ablution.


And the first thing a person will be taken to account on the day of qiyaamah is his Solaah.

As reported,

It was narrated that Huraith bin Qabisah said:

"I arrived in Al-Madinah and said: 'O Allah, make it easy for me to find a righteous companion.' Then I sat with Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, and said: 'I prayed to Allah to help me find a righteous companion.' So tell me a Hadith that you heard from the Messenger of Allah (ï·º), so that Allah might benefit me from it. He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (ï·º) say: "The first thing for which a person will be brought to account will be his Salah. Ifit is sound then he will have succeeded, be salvaged, but if it is not then he will have lost and be doomed." - (One of the narrators) Hammam said: "I do not know whether this was the words of Qatadah or part of the report." - "If anything is lacking from his obligatory prayers, He will say: 'Look and see whether My slave has any voluntary prayers to make up for what is deficient from his obligatory prayers.' Then all of his deeds will be dealt with in like manner."
