And no one can die without Allah’s command. (His) term has been fixed in writing. And whoever desires the reward of this world, We give him of that; and whoever longs for the reward of the Hereafter, We give him of that; and soon shall We pay reward (affluently) to those who pay thanks. "

Surely, Allah fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing them by His command until you showed cowardice and you started disputing about the command (of the Messenger [blessings and peace be upon him]) and later disobeyed (him), whereas Allah had brought that victory in your sight which you coveted. Amongst you were some who desired the gains of this world, and some others who sought reward in the Hereafter. Then He turned you back from them (dominated) so that He tests you. (Later, however,) He pardoned you and Allah is Most Gracious to the believers. "

When you were running away (in panic) and did not look back at anyone, and the Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) was calling you out (standing) amongst the party that were (steadfast) in your rear. Then He inflicted upon you sorrows one after the other (for admonition and training) so that you might not grieve over what you had lost and the calamity that had befallen you. And Allah is Well Aware of your works. "

Then after grief He sent down on you calm (and peace for relief) in the form of a slumber that overtook a party of you, whilst another party (comprising hypocrites who) were only worried about their own souls indulged in false assumptions about Allah which were (just) the assumptions of ignorance.

They say: ‘Do we too have anything (i.e., authority) in this matter?’ Say: ‘The whole matter is in the Hand of Allah.’ They have concealed in their hearts things which they let not be disclosed to you. They say: ‘Had we any say in this matter, we would not have been slain here.’ Say: ‘Even if you had been in your homes, those for whom killing was decreed would have come over to their slaughter places. And that has been (done) so that Allah may test what is in your breasts, and purge exhaustively (the apprehensions) pent up in your hearts. And Allah has thorough knowledge of the secrets of breasts.

Certainly, those of you who fled on that day when the two armies engaged in fierce fighting were only caused by Satan to slip, owing to some act they had perpetrated. Allah pardoned them indeed. He is, of course, Most Forgiving, Most Forbearing. "

Uhud, a few miles from Madina was a great stretch of barren rock rising out of the desert without any growth of vegetation. The Holy Prophet commanded the Muslim warriors to take up their position at Uhud on the rising ground. A band of archers took up position on an adjoining mound behind the main position. The archers were commanded not to abandon their posts under any circumstances, without the approval of the Holy Prophet. As usual the battle began with a duel. Talha bin Abi Talha the standard bearer of the Quraish stepped forward, and challenged the Muslims to a single combat.

Ali the standard bearer of the Muslims stepped forward to accept the challenge. Talha b Abi Talha was an expert swordsman among the Quraish, and it was the common belief that no body could beat him. As Talha stepped forward he boasted of his prowess. Talha was the first to attack Ali. Ali warded off the attack on his shield. Talha was wearing a coat of arms.  Ali aimed his blows at the legs of Talha. The legs were severed and Talha fell dead. Then another brother of Talha, Abu Shaiba stepped forward to seek a duel with a Muslim warrior. He was done to death by Hamza.

Thereafter the third brother, Said b Abi Talha rushed waving his sword and seeking vengeance for his two brothers. He was killed by Saad b Abi Waqas. The murder of the three brothers one after the other made the Quraish furious. Their flag was next held by Irtas b Sharjeel a formidable man. He challenged the Muslims saying that he who coveted death should step forward to measure swords with him. Ali met the challenge, and killed Irtas. Thereupon Asama b Zaid dashed at Ali, with a view to striking a blow at him, before he could adjust himself after killing Irtas.

Ali moved his sword right and left and struck a mortal blow on his assailant who reeled and fell down dead. After the death of six warriors from among the Quraish one after the other, no other warrior of the Quraish could dare challenge a duel with the Muslims. After the duels, the battle began. The Quraish charged with great force, but the Muslims held fast. Then in a counter attack the Muslims broke the enemy's line, and the Quraish fell back. At this stage, the contingent of the Muslim archers, contrary to the instructions of the Holy Prophet left their position in order to plunder the camp of the retreating Quraish.

Khalid b Walid who was still a non-Muslim and was commanding a contingent of the Quraish cavalry rushed with his contingent, and occupied the position vacated by the Muslim archers. That exposed the Muslims to an attack from the rear as well as from the front. That changed the course of the battle.

The defenses of the Muslims were broken, and in the confusion that followed many Muslims were martyred. Hamza an uncle of the Holy Prophet fell fighting. His dead body was desecrated by the Quraish as a mark of their fury against the Muslims. *Hinda the wife of Abu Sufyan, the leader of the Quraish ripped the dead body, took out his liver, and chewed it and it was believed she was unable to*.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

Friday and it's dignity.

Friday and it's dignity. O you who have believed, when [the adhān] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumuʿah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allāh and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew. Friday is the best day of the week because it was the day Adam was created, the day he entered paradise and the day he was removed from paradise. it was also the day he died and the hour(qiyaamah) will not come except on this day. Sahih. It was narrated from Aws bin Aws that: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever washes (ghassala) and performs ghusl, comes early to the masjid and sits near the imam and does not engage in idle talk, he will have for every step he takes (the reward of) a year's worth of good deeds, fasting it and...

The story of taqwa

The story of taqwa. Taqwa means fear of Allah. There once lived a young woman who was very beautiful lady and had all the qualities a man needed. She was well covered and oneday ,she was attacked with her families. This woman was taken away and brought to a man who was the bandits leader. As she was brought, the man wanted to sleep with her as she was so sad and in pain. As she undressed and coming to her, she said fear Allah and know death can come to you now. If you have a mother or sister like me, don't disgrace and destroy my honor for I won't forgive you  The leader immediately remembered he had a sister he loved a lot and so he quickly stopped and dressed and said to the lady, you can go. All the bandits were amazed of what their leader did. Three days later, the man whose sister was there and everyone in the sister knew her brother was wicked man. So every man was sacred. So a stranger walking by saw his sister and he felt in love with her. She went to her and said I wa...
