▪ This way, the sanctity of life will be preserved because the killer will refrain from killing, as he will be certain that if he kills, he would be killed. Hence a life will be preserved. In previous Books, there is a statement that killing stops further killing!. This meaning came in much clearer and eloquent terms in the Qur’an.
Abu Al-‘Aliyah said,
*“Allah made the Law of equality a ‘life’.*
Hence, how many a man who thought about killing? But this law prevented him from killing for fear that he will be killed in turn.”

*Therefore, Allah ﷻ says, “O men of understanding, that you may acquire Taqwa,”*
_The wisdom behind this command will be not be understood by anyone except those who are of sound minds, comprehension and understanding._
They are those who reflect on the ayaat of Allah ﷻ and go deep in their meanings. They use their intellect and understand what they are being told. When a person, instead of criticizing the commands of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala chooses to comprehend them he develops taqwa in his heart.

*Let's continue on a brief commentary on this verse*👇.
*Al-Baqara 172*
*(2:172) Believers! Eat of the pure things wherewith We have provided you for sustenance and give thanks to Allah if it is Him that you serve.*

_In the ayah, Allah ﷻ tells us to eat from what He has provided us and express our shukr_. _The believers are told that if by having believed they have committed themselves to following the Law of God as they claim then they should abandon all taboos and prohibitions imposed by the pundits and priests, by the rabbis and church fathers, by the monks and recluses, and by their own forefathers._ _They ought to feel no compunction with regard to consuming all that He had permitted._
▪ *Prophet ﷺ said 'Whoever prays in our manner, turns towards our qiblah (in Prayer), and eats (the flesh) of our slaughtered (animals), that person is Muslim.*
(Bukhari, Muslim, Nasai).

_He didn’t say you should not eat. Rather, He instructs us to use what He has given us...He puts only two conditions_
*what we consume should be permissible [halal] and pure*
▪ Remember to thank Allah ﷻ for all that He has created for
_Some of us eat the meal without saying alhumdulillah at the end. Others make faces when they do not see their favorite dish on the dinner table._ _We need to remind ourselves of the countless people who go to bed with empty stomachs or have to beg or steal only to get a piece of bread._
____*PAGE 6*____.

Allah ﷻ is providing us His blessings without having to beg or steal, and yet we fail to thank Him?
▪ This also reminds us to abstain from ingratitude. We should look at what we have and not what we are deprived of. At the end of ayah 172, He ﷻ says, *“…if it is indeed He Whom you worship.”* _It tells us that eating too becomes worship if we eat that which He has made lawful for us, abstain from that which is forbidden, recite His Name at the start of the meal and thank Him at the end of the meal._
▪ Eating healthy, nutritious and lawful food and then thanking Allah ﷻ nourishes both the body and soul.
____*PAGE 7*____.

A healthy person is able to worship Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala properly.
▪ _Eating from pure sources is a cause for the acceptance of supplications and acts of worship, just as eating from impure sources prevents the acceptance of supplications and acts of worship._
▪ If a person is not inclined to pray he should look at his food –
what is his source of earning?
Is the earning lawful?
Does it involve Riba [interest]?
Do I give the committed time to work or do I waste it in coffee breaks, chatting, doodling, long lunch hours, frequent late arrivals or absences, etc _*Many of us complain that Allah ﷻ does not answer our prayers. Here is a reminder for us to first look at our meal and our source of earning. Is it halal?*_

*Let's continue on how these verses were revealed*👇. *[3:139] Āl ‘Imrān-
And do not lose heart or feel grieved; and it is you who will be victorious, provided you maintain (perfect) faith. "

If you have received a blow (now, then remember that) they too have received a similar blow already. These are the days which We rotate amongst people. And these (ups and downs) occur so that Allah may distinguish the identity of true believers and bestow upon some of you the status of martyrs. And Allah does not like the wrongdoers".
___*PAGE 10*___.

And Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him) is but a Messenger (and not God). Many Messengers have passed away (from this world) before him as well. So, if he passes away or is martyred, will you then turn on your heels (back to your former religion i.e., will you consider his death or martyrdom—God forbid!—a proof that the Din [Religion] of Islam or his Messengership is false)? And whoever turns back on his heels shall not harm Allah the least. And Allah will soon reward those who give thanks (by remaining steadfast in hardship).
End of Today's Education. Subhanakallahuma wabihamdik ash-Hadu an llaaila Ilan Anta wastagfiruka wa atuuubu ilayhi. May Allah Azza wajjala strengthen and make us steadfast in faith. May HE accept our ibaadat and grant us the Good in this World and the Hereafter. May Allah Azza wa jalla forgive and grant us Jannah...Aa MIN
