Two things that grow with a person as he ages or grows old.
As reported in the hadith,
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The son of Adam (i.e. man) grows old and so also two (desires) grow old with him, i.e., love for wealth and (a wishfor) a long life."
Sahih al-Bukhari 6421
Anas bin Malik narrated that the Prophet (s.a.w) said:
"The Son Of Adan grows old, but two things keep him young: Desire for life and desire for wealth.""
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2339.
So as we grow, two things grow with a person, the love of wealth and the love of this world.
This hadith shows the desire of man for this dunya will never end except the one Allah has saved.
As reported in hadith,
Ibn 'Abbas and Anas bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "If a son of Adam were to own a valley full of gold, he would desire to have two. Nothing can fill his mouth except the earth (of the grave). Allah turns with mercy to him who turns toHim in repentance". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
