AMEENAH THE JOURNEY OF A YOUNG WOMAN

 AMEENAH

THE JOURNEY OF A YOUNG WOMAN

Chapter one

He was standing by the window of his living room with his two hands in his trouser pockets. He was looking at the outside world through the window. Christmas is around the corner, preparation could be seen at every corner of the street. Everyone seems excited and the atmosphere was full of love and happiness. He seems to be the only miserable man in the whole world.

He looked away from the window and walked towards the coffee table to pick up his ringing phone. It was a call from his cousin's brother.

"Ok... I will check it out." He answered a few seconds after he picked up the phone.

He walked towards the dining table, sat on one of the chairs, and use his long hand to pull the laptop from the opposite side of the table to his front. He opened the laptop and entered his password, he went to his mailbox and clicked on the message sent by his cousin's brother. It was a picture of a young lady, below the picture was her data. He did not even bother to go through her information before picking up his phone again.

"I have seen it." He said without any emotion.

"What do you think?" His cousin's brother asked from the other end of the phone.

"Nah, she isn't my type."

"Not again man... What did you mean she is not your type? This is the third girl for goodness sake Ahmad. Why are you doing this to yourself?"

" you are taking this too seriously Sadiq, anyways I understand where you are coming from, it is because you love and care for me." He said with a smile.

"Love my foot!" He spat out annoyingly from the other end of the phone.

"I'm just scared for your future. At thirty-five, you don't have a wife to talk more about having children. My third child is already seven years old and you are here rejecting every woman I'm trying to matchmake you with."

"Uhm"

Sadiq realized that he had spoken too much, so he changed his tone into a soothing tone.

"Ahmad... You need to give yourself another chance. It's been three years for crying out loud. Everything that happened was never your fault, let bygones be bygones and move on with your life."

"Thank you, Sadiq." He said in a gratifying tone. " I will do the needful very soon."

"Now you are talking bro... Since you don't like this one, should I find you another match?"

"No... Don't worry, I promise to find myself a bride before the end of the year." He said with a smile.

"Will that be possible? We have a few more days to round up the year."

"Oh sorry... I meant before the end of next year." They both chuckled at his blunders.

Two girls were happily chatting together in a well-decorated room. In their front were boxes of different sizes, one of the boxes was opened and its contents were displayed on the bed. One of the girls looked up at the time and then turned to the other girl.

" Why is she not here yet?" She asked at the same time looking at the entrance.

" She should be here at any moment." She replied as she picked up her phone to send a message.

Before she could send the message, the entrance door was pushed open. A slim girl of average height with a very small

an oval-shaped face entered the room. She was wearing a floral long skirt and a round neck top, and because the weather was cold she wore a blue-black blazer. She would have been beautiful if not for the rectangular frame glasses she was wearing which looked weird on her.

The moment she entered, the two girls in the room were shocked and they both exclaimed.

'What happened to your face."

She looked at the two of them sluggishly, without any change of expression as she answered them.

"I was slapped." She answered nonchalantly

"What." The two girls exclaimed.

She looked at their stunned expression and walked to the bed, she lay flat on the bed with her face facing the ceiling.

"Was it because you went to Summy henna's party?'' Lailah asked,

She didn't retort, but rather nod her head as she sat up.

"What's going on here? Does going to Summy henna's party warrant a slap?" The other girl, Fateema asked.

"That's her brother-in-law's modus operandi," Lailah answered as she turned to look at the girl sitting on the bed.

"Has he apologized?" Lailah asked again

"Kind of, he gave me a huge birthday cake." She answered as she kept on checking on the clothes on the bed.

Both girls... " what a weirdo."

"Watch your mouth, he is still my brother-in-law you know."

"What are you going to do now?" One of the girls asked.

"What can I do? I can't move out of the house, my sister said the only thing that will take me out of her house is marriage.

Both girls. "Ha!"

"That's why I need to find the next available husband as soon as possible." She said as she closed her eyes and hugged the pillow that was lying beside her on the bed.

"What are you doing Meenah?' Lailah giggled as she snatched the pillow away from her.

"I want a husband." She said as she stared at her friends."Marriage is the only thing that will take me out of my sister's house."

"Husband, where on earth are you?"

Meanwhile, Ahmad, who was working on his laptop in his study room on the other side of the world, suddenly halted his movement and looked up.

"Weird... I feel like someone is calling my name.'

"What did you say?''Sadeeq , who was on the other end of the video call asked.

" Nothing..." He looked back to the screen and continued to discuss the pressing issues of their business. They were about to round up when Ahmad's phone rang out, as he saw the caller, his expression turned worried.

"Is that big sister?" Sadeeq asked from the other end of the call.

"How did you know?" He asked as he glared at him.

"It's written all over your face. The only person that makes you  show your true emotion is the big sister." He said as he folds his hands on his chest.

"I guess she has also found you a match." He chuckled as he went offline.

In the past few years, everyone has been trying to matchmake him with the next available young girl.

What they didn't know was that his heart was buried alongside his late wife three years ago.

His phone rang out again, it was still a call from his sister. He has no other choice than to pick up the call.

"I learned that you will be spending your Christmas holiday in our hometown."

"Yes... I will be there for a few days."

"There is a lady I will love you to meet when you arrive."

"It will not be necessary if it is for another matchmaking because I already had a ladylove, who I planned to introduce to you when I arrive."

"Are you sure?"

He chuckled as he replied. "What are you saying, big sister."

"But Sadeeq said that you are not seeing anyone and you are not even accepting any match. So where is the lady love coming from?"

"Don't worry sis,  I will tell you everything tomorrow when we meet. I need to attend to something."

The smile on his face vanished away from his face the moment he dropped the phone.

What is he going to do now, he did not even understand the reasons why he had to lie to his sister.

Where on earth is he going to get a girlfriend within this short period?

"What else can I do?" I will just cook up another story." He thought to himself

*       *          *          *         *            *

Meenah strongly believes that marriage is the only means that will take her out of her sister's home.

After they lost their parents in a plane crash, her sister has been taking care of her and her elder brother. She loves and cares for them a lot. She was not just their sister but also their mother.

Being a traditional woman, she believes a woman should live under her parent's roof until marriage. That was why she find it very difficult to pack out of the house and keep tolerating her brother-in-law and his extended family.

Her friends were bringing up different ideas on how she would get a husband when Lailah suddenly thought of something.

"That reminds me, Meenah. What happened to the matchmaking section you went for last weekend?"

"Something pops up on his side, so it has been rescheduled to today in the afternoon."

Lailah looked doubtful and suspicious. "And you bought it?" She asked.

"Bought what?" Meenah looked up at her before she registered what she meant. "I don't have any reason to believe or doubt him. Something pops up... Then, it is." She shrugged her shoulders as she smiled at her.

"That's why you are easily been fooled," Lailah retorted annoyingly. How can someone be this gullible?  She thought to herself.

"I know what you are thinking." She winked and grinned at her." You think I am gullible, right?" She raised her brows as she asked.

"What can I say, Meenah? You know it better than I do"

She is right, Meenah used to be a naive and gullible young girl but not anymore.

Two years ago, she was used by the two people she love and trusted the most. One was her best friend and the other one was her boyfriend.

She saw the clues that something was fishy, and she decided to confront them to clear her doubting minds. When she asked her so-called boyfriend if he has feelings for her friend. He denied it instantly.

"She is your best friend for goodness sake, how can I do that to you? Moreover, she isn't my type."

When she asked her so-called best friend. She shook her head and said disgustingly." No! He is too wretched for my liking. You know a princess  like me needed a prince as a boyfriend, not just any random person."

It was barely two months after the confrontation that she caught the two making out in the office. They were not just making out, they were also badmouthing her. It was from their conversation that she realized that she has been used by the two of them.

The wretched guy thought she was an easy target and became friends with her.

And her so-called best friend will be like... "Meenah are you free this weekend?  Let's hang out together, you can come with Yazeed."

Anytime they hang out, the two will look like the real couple while she will look like their third wheel.

She was heartbroken when she realized everything. She cried for two nights before she got relief. From that moment onwards, she turned from a naive young girl to a brave young woman.

She looked at her childhood friend, who has always been by her side from when they were younger to this very moment despite being the little princess of a very wealthy family. She has never looked down on her.

"Don't worry Lailah, I'm a changed person. I just don't have any reason to believe or doubt him because he meant nothing to me." Lailah looked at her and gave her a relieved smile.

Fatimah, who had been neglected by her friends, opened her designer handbag and brought out a wrapped gift.

"Happy Birthday Meenah." She said as she extended her hands to give her the gift." Forget about those unworthy people and move on with your life, and if you will give me a chance,  promise to be a good friend just like Lailah."

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

One of the question asked is can a Christian enter Jannah today?

One of the question asked is can a Christian enter Jannah today? Alhamdulillah, it is clear from Quran and hadiths that any christian who dies believing Jesus is God or son of God and do not believe in prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him will enter hellfire. Allah says, Al-Ma'idah 5:17 They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allāh is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent Allāh at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?" And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and Allāh is over all things competent.

Friday and it's dignity.

Friday and it's dignity. O you who have believed, when [the adhān] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumuʿah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allāh and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew. Friday is the best day of the week because it was the day Adam was created, the day he entered paradise and the day he was removed from paradise. it was also the day he died and the hour(qiyaamah) will not come except on this day. Sahih. It was narrated from Aws bin Aws that: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever washes (ghassala) and performs ghusl, comes early to the masjid and sits near the imam and does not engage in idle talk, he will have for every step he takes (the reward of) a year's worth of good deeds, fasting it and...
