 How to be a Muslim?


Alhamdulillah, to be   a Muslim is simple by making the shahadayn which is Ash hadu Al laa ilaha illa Allah WA ash hadu Anna Muhammadan abduhuu warasuuluhu meaning I bear witness to Allah there is none worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad is his messenger.

This is the first creed of Islam and one utters it from the mouth, the heart confirms and actions performs what one says with his tongue.


this creed of laa ilaha illa Allah, muhammadar rasuulullaah is very important and the core of the Deen.


Saying this alone makes one a Muslim but the heart must be steadfast as the tongue utters these words.

As reported from the hadith,

It is narrated on the authority of ('Abdullah) son of Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet(may peace of Allah be upon him) said:

(The superstructure of) al-Islam is raised on five (pillars), i. e. the oneness of Allah, the establishment of prayer payment of Zakat, the, fast of Ramadan, Pilgrimage (to Mecca). A person said (to 'Abdullah b. Umar the narrator): Which of the two precedes the other-Pilgrimage or the fasts of Rarnadan? Upon this he (the narrator) replied: No (it is not the Pilgrimage first) but the fasts of Ramadan precede the Pilgrimage.

Sahih Muslim 16 a.


To believe in all these five pillars makes one a Muslim.


we have the six(6)articles of faith.

To believe in Allah 

his angels

his sacred books

his messengers

believe in the last day(Qiyaamah)

believe in Qadr whether good or evil is from Allah.


And we have one pillar of ihsan(perfection of Eeman).

Which is to worship Allah as if one sees Him and if he does not see a person, theb one sees HIM.


these beliefs make one a Muslim.

Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him?
