ONE BEST CHOICE

[Episode 6]

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

What Truly Matters in a Wife?

The most important qualities to look for in a potential wife are not simply her past, but her faith, piety, and character.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“A woman is married for four things: her wealth, her family status, her beauty, and her religion. So you should marry the religious woman; otherwise, you will be a loser.”

📚 Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim

The essential qualities to look for in a wife include piety, good character, and a sincere relationship with Allah (SWT). Virginity or a supposedly perfect past should not automatically be treated as the ultimate measure of a woman's worth.

A Previous Marriage Does Not Define a Woman

Let us consider this carefully.

A previously married woman may have gained valuable life experience. She may have learned important lessons about communication, patience, responsibility, and the realities of married life. These experiences can help her approach another marriage with greater understanding and maturity.

However, every person is different. An unmarried woman can also possess wisdom, emotional maturity, and excellent relationship skills.

A woman's marital history alone does not determine the kind of wife she will become.

Let us be honest.

Many divorced women are not bad people. Sometimes, two people enter a marriage with sincere intentions, but differences, misunderstandings, incompatibility, or difficult circumstances eventually cause the marriage to end.

Marriage, divorce, joy, and pain are all part of life's tests by the permission and decree of Allah. Therefore, when a marriage ends, it does not mean that life has ended or that a person's future is ruined. A new chapter may still bring peace, happiness, and goodness.

A divorced woman deserves to be treated with dignity and fairness, just like anyone else.

To the Sister Preparing to Marry Again

Whether you are preparing for your second marriage or have been married more than once, remember that a new marriage deserves honesty, trust, and a sincere commitment to doing better.

Do Not Conceal Matters That Could Affect Your Marriage

There are certain important matters that prospective spouses should discuss before marriage. Concealing information that could materially affect a spouse's decision or their future married life can undermine trust and cause serious problems later.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“Whoever cheats us is not one of us.”

📚 Sahih Muslim

The Truth Will Eventually Come Out

Yes, the reality is that concealed matters may eventually come to light, and when they do, the resulting disappointment can damage a marriage.

Some people conceal the number of children they have. Others hide previous marriages or divorces, significant health conditions, or other circumstances that could materially affect their future spouse.

Such matters should be approached with honesty and wisdom.

If you have children, for example, your prospective spouse should know before marriage. If you have a significant health condition that could affect married life, it should be discussed appropriately. Likewise, relevant facts about previous marriages should not be deliberately misrepresented.

At the same time, honesty does not mean that you must expose every private detail of your past. Matters that have no material bearing on the prospective spouse or the marriage may remain private. Sensitive personal matters should be handled with dignity, discretion, and due regard for Islamic guidance.

The important distinction is between protecting legitimate privacy and concealing information that could deprive another person of an informed decision.

Dear Sister, Build Your Marriage on Trust

Marriage is more than a legal union between two people. It is a commitment that requires trust, mercy, responsibility, and mutual understanding.

Like a flower that needs water and sunshine to flourish, a marriage needs care, patience, and consistent effort.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“When a servant marries, he has completed half of his religion; therefore, let him fear Allah regarding the remaining half.”

📚 Reported by al-Bayhaqi; its grading has been discussed by scholars.

Therefore, be honest with your prospective spouse. Discuss your expectations, concerns, responsibilities, and hopes for the future. Speak openly about matters that could affect your life together.

Do not allow embarrassment to prevent an important conversation. Equally, do not confuse honesty with unnecessarily exposing private matters that Allah has concealed.

Do Not Compare Your New Husband to Your Former Husband

Every individual is different. Avoid measuring your new husband against your former husband or expecting him to behave exactly as someone else did.

Instead, recognise his individual qualities, appreciate what is good, and work together to build a healthy relationship.

Of course, appreciation should not mean tolerating abuse, injustice, or harmful behaviour. A successful marriage requires mutual respect and accountability from both spouses.

Final Reminder

Life is full of ups and downs. Today may bring happiness, while tomorrow may bring a test. What matters is how we respond to those experiences.

With faith in Allah (SWT), sincere communication, patience, mercy, and mutual respect, a new marriage can become an opportunity for growth and tranquillity.

Dear sister, your previous marriage does not have to define your future. Learn from your experiences, uphold your dignity, and enter your next chapter with honesty and trust in Allah.

May Allah grant every sincere person a righteous spouse, bless our marriages with love and tranquillity, and protect our homes from dishonesty, injustice, and unnecessary hardship. Āmīn.

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
