DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER
Yaum al-Jumu‘ah | 21st day of Rabī‘ ath-Thānī, 1448 AH | Friday, 2nd October 2026
RECONCILIATION BETWEEN FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS IS A GREAT ACT OF WORSHIP
Bismillāh.
Assalāmu ‘Alaikum Warahmatullāhi Wabarakātuh, brothers and sisters in Islām.
Alhamdulillāh for granting us the opportunity to witness this blessed day of the week.
Sometimes, being the first person to make peace does not mean that you are the guilty one. It may simply mean that you fear Allah ‘Azzawajal more than you love your pride.
You may have been hurt. You may feel that the other person should come to you first. But Islām encourages us to rise above our ego and seek reconciliation for the sake of Allah ‘Azzawajal.
Our beloved Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“It is not permissible for a Muslim to forsake his brother beyond three nights... and the better of the two is the one who begins with the greeting.”
So, if there is someone in your family or among your friends with whom you have fallen out, do not allow pride to become stronger than your love for Allah ‘Azzawajal.
Send the message. Make the phone call. Say, “I’m sorry.” Say, “Let us resolve this.” Say, “I forgive you.”
You may think you are simply repairing a human relationship, but you may actually be opening a door to Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and reward.
May Allah ‘Azzawajal reconcile our families, heal broken friendships, remove hatred from our hearts, and make us people who bring others together rather than drive them apart. Aameen.
