FAJR REMINDER: COMMITMENT TO ALLĀH AMIDST SCORN

Jumādā al-‘Ūlā 9, 1448 AH | 20 October 2026

Bismillāh-ir-Raḥmān-ir-Raḥīm

Frequently, we witness people mocking those who strive to remain obedient to Allāh (ﷻ). They exchange knowing glances, laugh, ridicule, and belittle those who remain committed to the truth, as though obedience to their Creator were something deserving of scorn.

But this behaviour is nothing new! The righteous servants of Allāh throughout history have endured mockery and ridicule from those who rejected the truth. Even our beloved Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ), the best of mankind, was not spared such treatment. Allāh (ﷻ) says:

“And when they see you (O Muḥammad), they treat you only as a mockery (saying): ‘Is this the one whom Allāh has sent as a Messenger? He would have nearly misled us from our aliha (gods), had it not been that we were patient and constant in their worship!’ And they will know when they see the torment, who it is that is most astray from the (Right) Path!”

[Sūrah Al-Furqān (25): 41–42]

Servants of Allāh, this should remind every believer of the importance of remaining patient and steadfast upon the truth, regardless of the mockery, ridicule, or rejection of others. Never allow the fear of being laughed at to weaken your commitment to obeying Allāh. Do not abandon the truth merely to secure people's approval.

Rather, respond with patience, dignity, and wisdom. Do not retaliate with mockery, and never allow the misconduct of others to become an excuse for your own disobedience. Remain humble, examine your intentions, seek sound knowledge, and continue upon the path of righteousness.

Whether you are mocked for performing Ṣalāh, adhering to the authentic Sunnah, dressing modestly, avoiding what Allāh has prohibited, or striving to practise Islām faithfully, remember that the approval of people is temporary, but the Pleasure of Allāh is the ultimate goal. You were not created to win the applause of creation at the expense of displeasing your Creator. Your ultimate aspiration should be His Pleasure and the everlasting reward He has prepared for His obedient servants.

Indeed, Allāh (ﷻ) has promised a tremendous reward for those who believe in Him and obey His Commands. He says:

“Beautified is the life of this world for those who disbelieve, and they mock at those who believe. But those who obey Allāh’s Orders and keep away from what He has forbidden will be above them on the Day of Resurrection. And Allāh gives (of His Bounty, Blessings, Favors, Honors, etc. on the Day of Resurrection) to whom He wills without limit.”

[Sūrah Al-Baqarah (2): 212]

Those who mock the believers will ultimately be accountable for their deeds, just as the believers will be rewarded according to Allāh’s Justice and Mercy. On the Day of Resurrection, the reality of true success will become unmistakably clear. Allāh (ﷻ) reminds us:

“But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers. On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do?”

[Sūrah Al-Muṭaffifīn (83): 34–36]

As the saying goes, he who laughs last laughs best. However, the matter is far more profound than winning a contest of ridicule. True success is not determined by who laughs at whom in this worldly life, but by who earns the Pleasure of Allāh and attains salvation in the Hereafter.

Therefore, reflect sincerely upon this question: If the fear of people's mockery is causing you to neglect an obligation, compromise your principles, or abandon an authentic Sunnah, what do you value more—the fleeting approval of people or the eternal reward of Allāh?

Never forget that this worldly life is temporary, and the opinions of people will neither determine your worth before Allāh nor dictate your ultimate destination. Stand firmly upon the truth, seek beneficial knowledge to ensure that your beliefs and actions are grounded in sound evidence, surround yourself with righteous companions, and continually supplicate to Allāh to strengthen your Eemān.

At the same time, remember that steadfastness is not an invitation to arrogance or harshness. Remain gentle, uphold good character, and invite others to the truth with wisdom and beautiful exhortation. Your commitment to Islām should be evident not only in your outward practices but also in your honesty, humility, patience, and dealings with others.

Servants of Allāh, do not measure your success by the applause or ridicule of creation. Measure it by your sincerity towards Allāh, your obedience to His Commands, and your hope of meeting Him while He is pleased with you. Let the mockery of others become a reminder to renew your intentions, strengthen your resolve, and remain steadfast upon the truth.

I beseech Allāh (ﷻ) to grant us sound Eemān, sincere devotion, patience, and steadfastness upon the truth. May He protect us from the trials of this world, keep our hearts firm upon His Religion, and grant us the courage to obey Him without seeking the approval of His creation at the expense of His Pleasure.

Āmīn, Yā Rabb al-‘Ālamīn.

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
