THE HEART THAT REMEMBERS ALLĀH

FAJR REMINDER: THE HEART THAT REMEMBERS ALLĀH

Jumādā al-Ūlā 2, 1448 AH | Tuesday, 13th October 2026

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

LET US NOURISH OUR HEARTS WITH THE REMEMBRANCE OF ALLĀH AND SEEK TRUE PEACE IN HIS WORSHIP.

The struggles of some wealthy individuals, including those who experience deep emotional distress and, tragically, sometimes take their own lives, remind us that worldly success does not necessarily guarantee inner peace. A person may possess enormous wealth, live in a magnificent mansion, enjoy every earthly comfort, and receive admiration from others, yet still experience profound emptiness within. This is because material possessions may provide physical comfort, but they cannot, by themselves, fulfil the heart's deepest spiritual needs.

Imagine someone who appears to have everything society considers valuable but has neglected the One Who bestowed those blessings upon him. Despite having the means to satisfy his worldly desires, he finds no lasting contentment. Although surrounded by people, he feels lonely; although celebrated as successful, he struggles to find peace within himself. No worldly achievement can replace our need for Allāh (ﷻ), and our hearts must never become so attached to creation that we forget our Creator.

Allāh (ﷻ) gives us a beautiful reminder of where true tranquillity is found:

“Those who believe and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allāh. Verily, in the remembrance of Allāh do hearts find rest.”

📖 Sūrah Ar-Raʿd (13:28)

Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) explained that the continuous remembrance of Allāh has an extraordinary effect on the heart, bringing it comfort and delight, while heedlessness constricts and burdens it.

📚 Zād al-Maʿād, 2/25

Dhikr is more than the repetition of words upon the tongue. It involves remembering Allāh with the heart, recognising His Greatness, expressing gratitude for His blessings, placing our trust in Him, and striving to obey His commands.

Abū Mūsā (رضي الله عنه) reported that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said:

“The example of the one who remembers his Lord and the one who does not remember his Lord is like that of the living and the dead.”

📚 Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6407; Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 779

Just as the body requires nourishment to remain healthy, the heart needs faith, worship, and remembrance to flourish. Through Dhikr, we remind ourselves that nothing is hidden from Allāh, that His power is beyond our comprehension, and that His mercy remains a source of hope for those who sincerely turn to Him.

When fear grips our hearts, remembering Allāh reminds us that He is greater than our anxieties. When hardship comes, Dhikr directs us towards the Lord to Whom we can turn for help. When blessings abound, it nurtures gratitude instead of arrogance. And when temptation approaches, remembering that Allāh sees us helps us resist disobedience.

Dear servant of Allāh, as this new day begins, let your heart turn towards its Lord and let your tongue remain moist with His remembrance.

Before the demands of work, family, business, and other worldly responsibilities consume your attention, nourish your soul. Remember Allāh after your obligatory prayers, recite your morning Adhkār, read a portion of the Qur’ān, and seek His forgiveness.

Allāh (ﷻ) commands us:

“O you who have believed, remember Allāh with much remembrance. And exalt Him morning and afternoon.”

📖 Sūrah Al-Aḥzāb (33:41–42)

Adhkār are not merely phrases to be recited mechanically; they are reminders that direct our hearts towards the One Who deserves our utmost love, hope, fear, trust, and devotion.

Do not wait until hardship strikes before remembering Allāh. Remember Him during times of ease so that, when trials arrive, your heart knows where to turn. Remember Him when blessings surround you, so that prosperity does not make you arrogant. Remember Him when temptation arises, so that awareness of His presence becomes a barrier against sin.

And remember, dear Muslim, that seeking help from Allāh does not mean that we must face every difficulty alone. When emotional distress becomes overwhelming, seeking support from trustworthy people and qualified professionals can also be part of taking the means Allāh has made available to us.

May Allāh (ﷻ) make us among those whose hearts find tranquillity in His remembrance, whose tongues remain occupied with His praise, whose actions reflect their faith, and whose lives are filled with gratitude, patience, and sincere devotion to Him.

Āmīn, Yā Rabb al-ʿĀlamīn.

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
