SHE TREATED HER FATHER'S WOUNDS AT UḤUD

FAJR REMINDER: SHE TREATED HER FATHER'S WOUNDS AT UḤUD

Jumādā al-‘Ūlā 20, 1448 (31 October 2026)

Fāṭimah Bint Muḥammad (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhā) was not merely the beloved daughter of the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ); she was a cherished member of a family whose love, loyalty, and compassion remain timeless examples for the Ummah. The Prophet (ﷺ) loved her dearly, honoured her, and described her as a part of himself.

Her marriage to ‘Alī Ibn Abī Ṭālib (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) further reflected a household built upon faith, sacrifice, and devotion. Their family bond was demonstrated not through affection alone but also through standing together during hardship and serving one another in times of need.

One remarkable occasion that highlights this devotion was the Battle of Uḥud, when the Muslims faced grave danger and many were wounded. Fāṭimah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhā) played a particularly touching role by tending to the wounds of her beloved father, the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ).

While Muslim women provided water, attended to the injured, and supported the believers, Fāṭimah rushed to care for her wounded father. She washed the blood from his face while ‘Alī (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) brought water. When the bleeding persisted, she took decisive action to stop it.

Sahl Ibn Sa'd (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) narrated that he was asked about the wound of the Prophet (ﷺ) on the day of the Battle of Uḥud. He said:

"The face of the Prophet (ﷺ) was wounded, one of his front teeth was broken, and the helmet over his head was smashed. Fāṭimah washed away the blood while ‘Alī held the water. When she saw that the bleeding continued, she burnt a mat made of date-palm leaves until it turned into ashes, which she then placed over the wound. Thereupon, the bleeding stopped."

[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 2911]

In another narration, Sahl Ibn Sa'd (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) said:

"The face of the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) was injured, his front teeth were damaged, and his helmet was crushed. Fāṭimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ), was washing the blood from his head, while ‘Alī Ibn Abī Ṭālib was pouring water over it from a shield. When Fāṭimah saw that the bleeding had increased because of the water, she took a piece of mat and burnt it until it was reduced to ashes. She then placed the ashes on the wound, and the bleeding stopped."

[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1790]

Fāṭimah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhā) — the daughter who tended to her father's wounds at Uḥud!

Her actions remind us that the women of the early Muslim community were active participants in the struggles of the Ummah. They demonstrated courage, compassion, resilience, and practical service when their families and the Muslim community needed them most.

What a profound example of filial love, courage, and selflessness!

I beseech Allāh to have special mercy upon Fāṭimah Az-Zahrā’ (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhā), to be pleased with her, and to grant us the ability to emulate the faith, compassion, and devotion of the righteous predecessors.

Āmīn.

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
