THE VIRTUE OF THE QUR’AN

📖 THE VIRTUE OF THE QUR’AN 📖

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

ALLĀH ﷻ SAYS:

لَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَابًا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

“Indeed, We have sent down to you a Book in which is your reminder. Then will you not reason?”

📖 Qur’an 21:10

WHAT DOES THIS VERSE TEACH US?

According to Tafsir As-Sa‘di, ALLĀH Azzawajal has revealed the noble Qur’an as a source of reminder, honour, dignity, and elevated status for those who believe in it, reflect upon its teachings, obey its commands, and abstain from its prohibitions.

The Qur’an is not merely a book to be recited; it is a divine guide to be understood, followed, and applied in our daily lives.

When individuals and societies adhere to its teachings, they attain goodness and honour. When they turn away from its guidance, they expose themselves to humiliation and loss.

ALLĀH Azzawajal asks:

أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

“Then will you not reason?”

This is a powerful reminder to reflect upon the Qur’an, understand its message, and allow it to guide our decisions, character, and relationship with our Creator.

📚 THE QUR’AN: A SOURCE OF ELEVATION OR HUMILIATION

Amir ibn Wathilah reported that Nafi‘ ibn ‘Abd al-Harith met ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه at ‘Usfan. ‘Umar رضي الله عنه had appointed him as a governor over Makkah.

When ‘Umar رضي الله عنه asked whom he had appointed over the people of the valley, Nafi‘ mentioned Ibn Abza, a freed slave.

Upon learning that Ibn Abza had been appointed, ‘Umar رضي الله عنه asked about him. Nafi‘ explained that he was knowledgeable about the Book of ALLĀH and the rulings of the Shari‘ah.

‘Umar رضي الله عنه then said that he had heard the Messenger of ALLĀH ﷺ say:

“Indeed, ALLĀH raises some people by this Book and lowers others by it.”

📚 Sahih Muslim 817

🌿 LESSONS FOR US TODAY

The Qur’an elevates those who honour it by believing in it, learning it, understanding its guidance, and acting upon its teachings.

Ibn Abza’s appointment reminds us that true worth is not determined merely by wealth, social class, family background, or worldly status. Knowledge of the Qur’an and commitment to the teachings of Islam are among the qualities that deserve recognition.

Likewise, the honour of a Muslim community is not measured solely by its material possessions or worldly influence, but also by its faith, righteousness, justice, and adherence to the guidance of ALLĀH Azzawajal.

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, let us ask ourselves:

▪️ Do we recite the Qur’an regularly? ▪️ Do we strive to understand its meanings? ▪️ Do we apply its teachings in our homes, businesses, relationships, and daily decisions? ▪️ Does the Qur’an change our character and bring us closer to ALLĀH Azzawajal?

Remember, the Qur’an was revealed not simply to be placed on shelves or recited without reflection, but to guide humanity from darkness into light.

May ALLĀH Azzawajal make the Noble Qur’an the light of our hearts, the healing of our souls, the remover of our worries, and the guide for our lives. May HE grant us the ability to recite it correctly, understand it deeply, act upon it sincerely, and attain honour through it in this world and the Hereafter.

🤲 Aameen Yaa Rabbal Aalameen.

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
