ONE BEST CHOICE [[— EPISODE 4 —]]

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
WHEN A DIVORCED WOMAN DESERVES ANOTHER CHANCE
Everything happens by the decree of Allāh (ﷻ). Marriage, divorce, joy, and pain—all occur by His permission and wisdom. Therefore, when a marriage ends, it does not mean that life has ended. Divorce may mark the close of one chapter and the beginning of another. With patience, faith, and trust in Allāh, a person can find happiness again.
Sometimes, what appears to be an ending may become the beginning of a new opportunity.
MY BROTHERS, LISTEN!
The divorced woman you see today may possess the qualities of an excellent wife—perhaps even qualities you have been searching for in a spouse. If she has strong faith, good manners, and a sincere commitment to pleasing Allāh, why should her previous marriage automatically count against her?
THIS IS NOT MERELY AN OPINION; IT IS CONSISTENT WITH THE SUNNAH.
The Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) married women who had previously been married, including widows and divorcees. His example teaches us that a woman's previous marital status does not diminish her dignity or make her unworthy of a loving, peaceful, and successful marriage.
So, brothers, do not allow cultural prejudice to make you overlook a righteous woman simply because she has been married before.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“A woman is married for four things: her wealth, her family status, her beauty, and her religion. So, you should marry the religious woman (otherwise) you will be a loser.”
📚 Ṣaḥīḥ Al-Bukhārī and Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim.
Reflect on this beautiful teaching. The Prophet (ﷺ) directed our attention to religion as a fundamental consideration when choosing a wife.
A woman's worth is not determined solely by whether she has been married before. Her faith, character, honesty, and conduct matter greatly.
A woman who loves Allāh, observes her religious obligations, and treats others with kindness is a blessing worth appreciating.
WHY A DIVORCED WOMAN MAY BE AN EXCELLENT CHOICE
1. She May Have Gained Valuable Life Experience.
Previous experiences may have taught her important lessons about communication, responsibility, patience, and the realities of married life. These lessons can help her approach another marriage with greater understanding.
2. She May Have Developed Emotional Strength.
Having experienced disappointment and hardship, she may have developed resilience and a deeper appreciation for peace, stability, and mutual respect.
3. She May Better Understand Compromise.
Marriage requires cooperation, understanding, and a willingness to work through disagreements. Her previous experience may have helped her appreciate the importance of these qualities.
4. She Deserves Respect, Not Stigma.
A divorced woman is not a rejected product, a leftover, or someone whose value has diminished. She is a human being deserving of dignity, kindness, and a fair opportunity to build a happy marriage.
My brothers, never assume that a woman is unsuitable simply because her previous marriage did not work out. Likewise, do not assume that every divorced woman will necessarily make a better wife than a woman who has never married. Every individual is different.
Look beyond marital history. Examine faith, character, compatibility, and readiness for marriage.
A woman you might overlook today could turn out to be the very person with whom you build a beautiful future, by the permission of Allāh.
NOW, A MESSAGE TO MY DEAR SISTERS.
To the sister preparing to marry again, and to the sister who is already in her second or third marriage, this message is for you.
MY DEAR SISTER, YOU DESERVE A FRESH START.
You have experienced life, and you may have endured pain that others do not fully understand. But your past does not have to determine your future.
Place your trust in Allāh (ﷻ), learn from your experiences, and move forward with wisdom. However, before entering another marriage, make an effort to establish REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS.
Remarriage is not automatically a bed of roses. Like every marriage, it can come with challenges, disagreements, and moments that require patience. New love can bring happiness, but it does not automatically erase the pain of a previous divorce or guarantee that everything will be perfect.
Enter your new marriage with hope, but also with wisdom, honesty, and emotional readiness.
COMMUNICATE, COMMUNICATE, COMMUNICATE!
Communication is essential to a healthy marriage. Matters that are left undiscussed before marriage may later become sources of misunderstanding and conflict.
Do not allow excessive shyness to prevent you from discussing important matters with a prospective spouse in an appropriate and respectful manner.
Talk about your expectations.
Discuss intimacy and your expectations concerning marital affection. Talk about food, household responsibilities, finances, family involvement, privacy, and the boundaries that matter to both of you.
Discuss how you respond when you are angry, what helps you calm down, and how you prefer disagreements to be resolved.
Talk about what you can tolerate and what you cannot accept. Discuss the lessons you have learned from your previous marriage without allowing bitterness to control the conversation.
Be honest. Do not pretend to be someone you are not. Do not conceal important matters that could significantly affect your future together.
Remember, the purpose of these conversations is not to demand perfection from one another. It is to understand one another and establish a foundation of mutual respect, trust, and cooperation.
DO NOT COMPARE YOUR NEW HUSBAND TO YOUR EX.
My dear sister, resist the temptation to measure your new husband against your former husband.
Avoid statements such as, “My former husband used to do this,” or “My ex never behaved this way,” especially when such comparisons are intended to make your new husband feel inadequate.
Every individual has different strengths, weaknesses, and ways of expressing love. Give your new husband the opportunity to be known for who he is.
This does not mean you should ignore genuine mistreatment or tolerate harmful behaviour. Rather, appreciate the good in your new marriage while addressing problems with wisdom and fairness.
Do not allow yesterday's disappointment to blind you to today's blessings.
Every person is different, and every marriage has its own circumstances. Focus on building a healthy relationship with the person Allāh has brought into your life, provided the relationship is good for you and consistent with your faith and well-being.
Water the flowers, not the weeds. 🌹
In other words, nurture what is good, address problems constructively, and do not allow unnecessary comparisons to destroy the peace you are trying to build.
FINALLY, MY DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS...
Life is full of ups and downs. Today may bring happiness, while tomorrow may test your patience. Marriage requires more than love; it requires responsibility, understanding, communication, mercy, and a sincere commitment to doing what is right.
Remember that a successful marriage is not built merely on a person's marital history. It is built through faith, good character, mutual respect, compatibility, and the willingness of both spouses to fulfil their responsibilities.
To my brothers: do not reject a righteous woman simply because she is divorced.
To my sisters: do not allow a previous disappointment to convince you that happiness is no longer possible.
And to everyone preparing for marriage: seek a spouse whose faith and character you respect, discuss important matters honestly, and ask Allāh to guide you towards what is best.
May Allāh (ﷻ) grant our unmarried brothers and sisters righteous spouses, bless those preparing for remarriage, heal wounded hearts, and place love, mercy, tranquillity, and understanding in our homes.
ĀMĪN YĀ RABBAL-ʿĀLAMĪN. 🤲
