*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaumul ahad | 1st day of Dhul-Ḥijjah, 1447 AH | Monday, 18th May 2026. *_HISTORICAL CONTEXT AS TO WHY MUSLIMS PERFORM TAWAF (CIRCUMAMBULATION) 7 TIMES DURING HAJJ AND UMRAH_*. BismilLah.  As we continue with yesterday’s reminder, let us first remember that the blessed first ten days of Dhul-Ḥijjah have begun today. THE MAN BEHIND ḤAJJ

FAJR REMINDER: THE MAN BEHIND ḤAJJ  By: Umm Affān Dhū al-Ḥijjah 1, 1447 (18-May-2026) It is indeed a tremendous blessing that Muslims from every corner of the world gather annually in the sacred city of Makkah during the month of Dhūl-Ḥijjah to perform the great pilgrimage known as Ḥajj. This remarkable act of worship remains the largest annual gathering of believers on earth. The history of Ḥajj dates back to the era of our noble father, Prophet Ibrāhīm, and his son Ismā‘īl (‘Alayhimā Salām). As the fifth Pillar of Islām, Ḥajj serves as a powerful reminder of the immense trials, sacrifices, and unwavering obedience displayed by Prophet Ibrāhīm (‘Alayhi Salām) and his family in submission to Allāh. By the Command of Allāh, both father and son (‘Alayhimā Salām) raised the foundations of His Sacred House, the Ka‘bah, which millions of Muslims continue to circumambulate today. From that moment, Ḥajj became a lasting tradition established through Prophet Ibrāhīm (‘Alayhi Salām), ...

The First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah

*The First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah* The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are the best days of the whole year. During them, good deeds are most beloved by Allah (ﷻ) and most rewardable. Jābir Bin Abdillah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: *“The best days in the world are the Ten Days.”* [Recorded by Ibn Hibban and al-Bazzar. Verified to be authentic by al-Albānī (Saḥīḥ ul-Jami'no. 1133 and Şahih ut-Targhib wat-Tarhib no. 1150)] Some people may wonder, "Are these ten days also better than the last ten nights of Ramadan - especially since the latter contain Laylat ul-Qadr about which Allah (ﷻ) says: Laylat ul-Qadr (the Night of Decree) is better than one thousand months. [Al-Qadr 97:3] ?”  The answer to this question is that, in terms of nighttime, the last ten nights of Ramadan are the best of the year. In terms of daytime, the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are the best. [See, for example, Tuhfat ul-Ahwathi no. 757]

No Days Better than these Ten Days

*No Days Better than these Ten Days* Ibn 'Abbās (رضي الله عنه) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said about the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah: *“There are no days during which good deeds are more beloved by Allah than these (Ten) Days.”* He (ﷺ) was asked, "Not even striving for Allah's cause (jihād)?" He replied:  *“Not even (physical) striving for Allah's cause - except for a man who goes out himself, taking all his wealth, and returns with none (i.e., dies and loses all for Allāh).”* [Recorded by al-Bukhārī, at-Tirmithi, and others] Ibn 'Abbās (رضي الله عنه) also reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: *“No deed is more sublime and rewardable by Allah (ﷻ) than a good deed done during the Ten Days (ending with the day) of Adhā.”* [Recorded by ad-Darimī and al-Bayhaqi. Verified to be hasan by al-Albānī (Sahih ut-Targhib wat-Tarhīb no. 1148)] 'Abdullah Bin Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: *“There are no days dur...

NEGLECTING ḤAJJ DESPITE HAVING MEANS

FAJR REMINDER: NEGLECTING ḤAJJ DESPITE HAVING MEANS By: Umm Affān Dhū al-Qa'dah 29, 1447 (17-May-2026) Among the Rights that Allāh has upon His servants regarding worship is the obligation of performing Ḥajj for whoever is capable of doing so. Allāh (ﷻ) says: “...And Ḥajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) to the House (Ka'bah) is a duty that mankind owes to Allāh, those who can afford the expenses (for one's conveyance, provision and residence); and whoever disbelieves [i.e. denies Ḥajj (pilgrimage to Makkah), then he is a disbeliever of Allāh], then Allāh stands not in need of any of the 'Ālamīn (mankind and jinns).” [Sūrah Aal-‘Imrān (3): 97] Based on the textual evidences and the consensus of the scholars, Ḥajj is obligatory only once in the lifetime of every adult Muslim who has the means. Yet, it is unfortunate that some “Muslims” who are financially and physically capable continue to delay or neglect this obligation. Some excuse themselves with work commitments, while other...

TAFSEER OF SUURAH AL-MUTAFFIFIN (Qur’an 83) continues

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum As-sabt | 29th day of Dhul-Qa'dah, 1447 AH | Saturday, 16th May 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SUURAH AL-MUTAFFIFIN (Qur’an 83) continues_*. BismilLah.  Let's continue with our studies of suurah Al-Mutaffifin with Some Practical Lessons We Can Apply in Daily Life. 1. Be Honest in Every Deal. Do not cheat people in: Money, Business, Work, Time, Promises, Relationships etc. A believer should love fairness for others as he loves it for himself. 2. Remember Accountability. Every action is recorded. Even hidden deeds, private conversations, and intentions are known to ALLAH Azzawajal. This awareness builds sincerity and self-discipline. 3. Sins Affect the Heart. Repeated sins can harden the heart and make worship feel heavy. Repentance, dhikr, Qur’an, and obedience polish the heart again. 4. Don’t Be Deceived by Mockery. Following Islam sincerely may attract criticism from others. Remain patient and dignified. The judgment of ALLAH Azzawajal matters more than t...

SPEAK TO HER WALĪ FIRST

FAJR REMINDER: SPEAK TO HER WALĪ FIRST By: Umm Affān Dhū al-Qa'dah 28, 1447 (16-May-2026) After the Prophet (ﷺ) accepted Sawdah Bint Zam’ah Ibn Qays (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anha) to be his wife, Khawlah Bint Ḥakīm (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anha) spoke to Sawdah’s father, Zam’ah, on behalf of the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ). In this, there is a profound lesson for us all. Nowadays, when a man and a woman intend to marry, people around them often know about the relationship before the parents do. This is completely contrary to the proper Islāmic manner. When a man desires to marry a woman, the first person he should approach is her Walī (father or male guardian), because the marriage cannot proceed without his approval. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “There is no marriage except with a guardian.” [Sunan At-Tirmidhī 1101] In another narration, the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Any woman who gets married without the permission of her guardian, her marriage is invalid, her marriage is invalid, her marriage is invalid.” [Sunan At-Ti...

TAFSEER OF SUURAH AL-MUTAFFIFIN (Qur’an 83) continues

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaumul Jumuat | 28th day of Dhul-Qa'dah, 1447 AH | Friday, 15th May 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SUURAH AL-MUTAFFIFIN (Qur’an 83) continues_*. BismilLah.  Let's continue with our studies of suurah Al-Mutaffifin.  Verses 29–36. Mockery in This World and Justice in the Next. These verses describe a striking reversal of fortunes between the wicked and the believers. In this life, the evildoers openly mocked and ridiculed the faithful — laughing at them, exchanging contemptuous glances as they passed, then going home to boast about it, dismissing the believers as misguided fools. Yet they had no authority over them and no right to judge. On the Day of Judgement, the tables are completely turned: it is the believers who will be at ease, reclining on noble couches, while the disbelievers face their reckoning receiving in full exactly what their deeds earned them. The criminals used to mock the believers in this world, but on the Day of Judgment the believers w...

SILENT PUNISHMENT OF SIN

*SILENT PUNISHMENT OF SIN* Ibn al-Jawzi رحمه الله said:   “Among their hidden punishments is: being deprived of the sweetness of intimate supplication and the delight of worship.” ... So do not leave the door of Allah, and do not abandon du‘ā’; for hearts only come to life through nearness to Him, Glorified be He. Morning and evening Adhkar   Do not leave your fortress, and increase in the remembrance of Allah. Note: “Hidden punishments” refers to consequences of sins -like losing khushū‘, feeling ibadah as heavy, or du‘ā feeling empty. May Allah accept it from you and us. Aameen *Allaahu I Musta'aan*

Days in DhulHijah [[-5th Outing-]

Days in DhulHijah [[-5th Outing-]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم A huge golden chance is almost here. The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah start very soon. This is one of the biggest opportunities of the whole year. Why are these days so special? Allah (swt) speaks about them in the Quran. And the Prophet (peace be upon him) said they are the best days for good deeds. These ten days are like a gift wrapped in huge rewards. Think about Ramadan. Maybe you feel you didn't do your best. Don't cry over that now. Allah is so merciful that He gives you these ten days as a second chance. Grab it with both hands. My People, Doing wrong in these days is much worse than other months. Guard your tongue. Guard your hands. Now, A special rule for those sacrificing an animal (Ud'hiyah): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When the month of Dhul-Hijjah begins, and one of you intends to make a sacrifice, then let him or her not take anything from the hair of his body, or ...
