  FAJR REMINDER: ALLĀH DOES NOT WANT HARDSHIP FOR US By: Umm Affān Rabīʿ Al-Ākhir 27, 1448 AH | Friday, 9 October 2026 بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ALLĀH DOES NOT WANT HARDSHIP FOR US Allāh (ﷻ), in His Perfect Knowledge, Wisdom, and Mercy, has not prescribed a religion intended to break His servants. Rather, He has established the Sharīʿah upon justice, wisdom, mercy, and ease. He (ﷻ) says: “Allāh intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship.” [Sūrah Al-Baqarah 2:185] This verse occurs in the context of fasting, where Allāh grants the sick and the traveller the concession ( Rukhṣah ) to postpone their fast and make up the missed days later. This beautifully demonstrates the mercy embedded within the Sharīʿah.   FAJR REMINDER: THE BEAUTY OF PRIVATE DEEDS Rabī‘ al-Akhir 26, 1448 (8 October 2026) What if my good deeds are recognized or witnessed by others? This is not necessarily a problem if your intention is solely for the sake of Allāh. Allāh (ﷻ) says: “If you disclose your Ṣadaqāt (almsgiving), it is well; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, that is better for you. And He will remove from you some of your sins. And Allāh is All-Aware of what you do.” [Sūrah al-Baqarah (2): 271] Take note of the words: “But if you conceal them and give them to the poor, that is better for you.” A true sign of sincerity is the ability to perform good deeds without seeking recognition, praise, or admiration from people. The sincere servant finds contentment in knowing that the One for whom the deed was performed is fully aware of it. Now, listen. The night before Friday begins at sunset on Thursday. It is the beginning of Laylat al-Jumu‘ah , the night leading into Friday. Friday is a special and blessed day. Among the beautiful acts of worship encouraged on Friday is sending abundant ṣalāh and salām upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. So let us prepare our hearts. Let us prepare our tongues.   FAJR REMINDER: ṢABR IS NOT ENDURING HARM Rabī‘ Al-Akhīr 25, 1448 (7-October-2026) It is essential to distinguish between Ṣabr (patience) and simply enduring a situation in which one is being harmed. So, what is Ṣabr (patience)? It is not merely putting up with whatever situation arises without taking action. Ṣabr involves remaining steadfast in obedience to Allāh during difficult times, restraining oneself from sinful reactions, persistently doing what is right, seeking lawful solutions, making Du‘ā’, utilizing available means, and trusting Allāh while patiently awaiting His Assistance. Allāh (ﷻ) states: “O you who believe, seek help through patience and prayer. Rabīʿ al-Akhīr 24, 1448 AH | 6 October 2026 The question of whose rights are greater—those of one's parents or one's wife—has caused painful tensions in many households. Often, husbands feel pressured to choose between their parents and their wives. However, Islām does not instruct a man to neglect one set of rights in order to honour another. Rather, it requires him to fulfil the rights of each person as ordained by Allāh (ﷻ). Parents undoubtedly hold tremendous rights over their children. Allāh (ﷻ) says: “And We have enjoined upon man care for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. GOOD CHARACTER IS AN ACT OF WORSHIP بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ We often measure our worship by how much we pray, fast, recite the Qur’an, give charity, and perform other acts of worship. But ask yourself: How do I treat people? Do I forgive when I am hurt? Do I control my anger? Do I speak gently when I could be harsh? Do I show mercy when nobody is watching? The Prophet ﷺ said: “Nothing is heavier on the believer’s scale on the Day of Resurrection than good character.” (Tirmidhi) Never think your kindness is insignificant. The patience you showed. The insult you chose to ignore. The person you forgave. The hurt you chose not to return. The harsh words you restrained yourself from saying. ALLAH Azzawajal saw it all.
