*END OF ISLAMIC YEAR 1441AH*
The Almighty Allah created time and it changes day and night, weeks and months and then years. In The Quran Allah says He created 12 months to make a year of which four are sacred. The four include this month Dhul Hajjah and Muharram.
According to the Islamic Calendar we are in the 12th and last month of the year. Actually, by some calendars, today being Wednesday is the last day of the year 1441 AH and Thursday this week will be the 1st day of the new year 1442 AH.
As we all know, change of time serves to remind us that we are slowly but surely growing older and progressing on the journey to go back to our Creator anytime. So it is not something we should take lightly as time lost is never ever regained.
In Islam we don't celebrate year end by fireworks, shouting, exicitement or abusing the year etc Instead it is time of reflection.
We can engage ourselves in some of the following deeds to recognize these important days which are clear signs of Allah who said He is time itself:
1.Fasting the last day of the year and the first day of the new year, Thursday.
2. Assessing your deeds in the year and repentance for all the transgressions.
3. Planning higher spiritual deeds in the new year.
4. Remembering, thanking and Glorifying The Almighty God alot.
5. Making charity for u and for your parents.
6. Reconnecting with parents, relatives and friends etc
8. Reading Qur'an
9. Making optional prayers of thankfulness to your Lord, God your Creator.
10. Visiting the sick, attending burials, feeding the poor, caring for orphans etc.
Please also remember to fast the 9th and 10th days of the first month, Muharram if possible due to advice from our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam).
Other believers first all the FIRST TEN DAYS of the first month of the year.
We pray to The Almighty Allah to protect us to finish this year and to safely deliver us through the new year which starts this Thursday Insha Allah.
