BismilLah.  Let's continue with our studies of suurah Al-Infitar. Verse 14. وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ "And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire." After mentioning the reward of the righteous in verse 13, ALLAH Azzawajal immediately mentions the fate of the opposite group: وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ "And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire." This contrast between the righteous and the wicked is a common style in the Qur'an. By mentioning both reward and punishment, ALLAH Azzawajal balances hope and fear in the hearts of believers.  FAJR REMINDER: ITS LOCATION AND PURPOSE By: Umm Affān Dhū al-Ḥijjah 22, 1447 (8-June-2026) The Ka’bah stands at the heart of Makkah and is regarded as the most sacred site in Islām. It is the Qiblah toward which Muslims across the world direct their faces and hearts in worship. Five times every day, believers turn toward it in humble devotion as they perform their Ṣalāt, seeking the Pleasure of Allāh Alone. Every year, Muslims travel from different parts of the globe to visit the Ka’bah, performing Ṭawāf and fulfilling the rites of ‘Umrah and Ḥajj. The significance of this blessed House is highlighted in the Statement of Allāh (ﷻ): “In it are manifest signs (for example), the Maqām (place) of Ibrāhīm; whosoever enters it, he attains security. Every prayer, every charity, every kind act is a strong, healthy tree in that garden. But there is a fire that can burn your whole garden to ashes in seconds. That fire is your tongue. Yes! When you speak about a Muslim in their absence—in a way they would hate—you dig a grave. Yes. You dig a grave for your own good deeds. You then, throw your beautiful deeds into that grave and burn them. It burns fast, like fire burns dry leaves. It does not matter if what you said is true. Commentary (Tafseer): This verse completes ALLAH'S description of the recording angels: وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ "Indeed, over you are guardians." (82:10) كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ "Noble scribes." (82:11) يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ "They know whatever you do." (82:12) The meaning is that these angels are fully aware of the deeds ALLAH has commanded them to record. They witness and record our actions with complete accuracy by ALLAH'S permission. This does not mean that the Angels possess independent knowledge of the unseen.  FAJR REMINDER: BUILDING THE ANCIENT HOUSE By: Umm Affān Dhū al-Ḥijjah 21, 1447 (7-June-2026) Prophet Ibrāhīm (‘Alayhi Salām) took his son, Ismā'īl, with him to build the House of Allāh (the Ka‘bah). This contains a profound lesson for parents. Children often learn through observation, and their parents are usually their greatest role models. Therefore, parents should strive to set good examples and allow their children to witness and participate in righteous deeds. Involving children in acts of worship helps nurture faith and allows them to share in the reward. From an early age, they should be encouraged to establish prayer, observe voluntary fasts, give charity, and engage in other acts of obedience to Allāh. As Prophet Ibrāhīm and Ismā‘īl (‘Alayhimā Salām) raised the foundations of the House, stone upon stone, they continuously supplicated to Allāh, asking Him to accept their efforts. They are Angels whom ALLAH Azzawajal describes with two noble qualities: 1. كِرَامًا (Kirāman) – Noble They are honored servants of ALLAH Azzawajal, distinguished by purity, obedience, and dignity.  FAJR REMINDER: THE KHUTBAH AND ITS CONDITIONS By: Umm Affān Dhū al-Ḥijjah 19, 1447 (5-June-2026) The Fuqahā’ (jurists) of the four Madhāhib are reported to have agreed that the Jumu’ah Khutbah (Friday Sermon) is an essential condition for the validity of the Friday prayer. It is part of the remembrance of Allāh that He commands in His Saying: “O you who believe (Muslims)! When the call is proclaimed for the Ṣalāt (Prayer) on Friday (Jumu’ah prayer), come to the remembrance of Allāh [Jumu’ah religious talk (i.e. Khutbah) and Ṣalāt (prayer)] and leave of business (and every other thing), that is better for you if you did but know!” [Sūrah Al-Jumu’ah (62): 9] The Jumu’ah Khutbah has two important conditions. First, it must be delivered after the time for Jumu’ah prayer begins. Second, unlike the ‘Eid Khutbah, which is given after the prayer, the Jumu’ah Khutbah must be delivered before the prayer.  *Imam's Friends* [[-- Episode 3 --]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم *Offering obligatory prayer behind someone establishing nafil prayer:* There is nothing wrong with one who is offering an obligatory prayer to pray behind one who is offering an optional prayer. Evidence: Mu adh ibn Jabal (r.a.) used to pray Isha’ with the Prophet (pbuh), then he would go back to his people and lead them in praying ‘Isha’, and the prayer was optional for him and obligatory for them. An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “In this Hadith, we see that it is permissible for one who is offering an obligatory prayer to pray behind one who is offering a optional prayer, because Mu‘adh used to offer the obligatory prayer with the Messenger of Allah (pbuh), so he discharged his duty, then he would pray the second time with his people, so it was voluntary for him and obligatory for them.  *Imam's Friends* [[-- Episode 2 --]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم *Praying Maghrib behind one who is praying ‘Isha’:* Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The correct view on this is that if a person comes (to the mosque) and the imam is praying ‘Isha’, whether he is with a group or not, he should join the imam, with the intention of praying Maghrib. It does not matter if the imam’s intention is different from that of one who is praying behind him, because the Prophet (pbuh) said: “Actions are but by intentions, and each person will have but that which he intended.” If they join him in the second rak’ah, they can say the tasleem with him, because they will have prayed three rak’ahs, and it does not matter if they sit for the Tashahhud during their first rak’ah. If they join him in the first rak’ah, then when he stands up for the fourth rak’ah, they can sit and recite the Tashahhud and say the tasleem, then join him in what remains of ‘Isha prayer....
