The destiny (Qadr) and belief in Qadr
Alhamdulillah, the sixth pillar of faith(Eeman) is Qadr
As Allah says,
Al-Qamar 54:49
إِنَّا كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَٰهُ بِقَدَرٍ
Indeed, all things We created with predestination.
A muslim should have yaqeen and believe in qadr that everything thay comes to him is already written 50000years before the creation.
As reported in hadith,
Abdullah b. 'Amr b. al-'As reported:
I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Allah ordained the measures (of quality) of the creation fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth as His Throne was upon water.
I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Allah ordained the measures (of quality) of the creation fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth as His Throne was upon water.
Sahih Muslim 2653.
Also reported,
It was narrated that Suraqah bin Ju'shum said:
I said: 'O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), is one's deed in that which has already dried of the Penand what has passed of the Divine Decree, or is it in the future?' He said: 'No, it is in that which he already dried of the Pen and what has passed of the Divine Decree, and each person is facilitated for what he has been created.'"
Sunan ibn Majah
Vol. 1, Book 1, Hadith 91.
Abu Huraira said:
I told God’s messenger that I, being a young man, was afraid of committing fornication, and I had no means to enable me to marry a wife. (It was as though he was asking permission to have himself made a eunuch.) He gave me no reply, so I repeated what I had said, but he gave me no reply. I repeated it again, but he gave me no reply. I repeated it once more and the Prophet said, “Abu Huraira, the pen has written all it has to write1 about your destiny, so have yourself made a eunuch on that account or leave things as they are.” Bukhari transmitted it. 1 Lit. “the pen dried up”.
Mishkat al-Masabih 88.
This sahaba came asking to commit fornication but the prophet said everything is destined and if he is destined to be among the people misguided, he will find himself into that act or if he is guided, Allah will protect him from falling into it.
But apart from destiny, we have qudra meaning our will to choose evil or good path.
Allah has sent messengers and prophets to enlighten us and bring us into guidance. And we do not know what ot destiny is. We just have to do what is good and leave the matter of Qadr in the hands of Allah.
