*Discussing Sawdah*
[[----- Part 1-of-8 -----]]---------------------------------
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) never thought of marrying another woman as long as Khadijah (R.A) was alive. Umme-Saudah (R.A) bint Zam'ah was the first woman to enter into the marriage with the Holy Prophet after the death of Khadijah (R.A). She was about 50 years old when she was married to Muhammad (PBUH). She was first married to Sakran bin Umro (R.A) bin Abd-Shams, who was her cousin. Her father was Zam'a bin Khais bin Abd-Shams. Her mother was "Shamoos bint Khais bin Omero".
Saudah (r.a) was among the first of those who testified to faith in Allah (swt) and the messenger (PBUH).. She accepted Islam in a time when doing so could very likely mean torture and even death at the hands of the Quraysh. But Saudah didn’t let fear stop her from affirming the truth.
Saudah was the first Muslim in her family and she played a vital role in her husband coming to Islam.
She was also among those who migrated in the cause of Allah (swt). She left her home and everything she knew to travel across the desert and ocean to a distant land known to her only by its name, Abyssinia, in order to to please Allah (swt).
*Lessons from the Above:*
The sincerity in love & fear of Allah (swt) demand a believer to give off their desires.
Now,
Just saying, *‘I love Allah’* is not enough. Love of Allah and fear of Allah go hand in hand. When a person loses his love of Allah, he will also lose his reason, conscience and Qur’anic virtues. That believer cannot achieve a deep faith, cannot properly train his lower self and cannot attain paradise.
Servants of Allah!
People who wake up for Tahajjud everyday are not amongst those who have sleepless nights, but they just choose to give off their desire of wanting to continue sleeping to please Allah.
In fact, Allah (swt) say about Tahajjud:
*"Their sides forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend (in charity in Allah’s Cause) out of what We have bestowed on them. No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do”* 📚[Al-Sajdah 32:15-17]
My People!
We can see from the above Quran verse that, giving sadaqah frequently is a sign of unadultrated eemaan. In fact, Allah (swt) explained giving out sadaqah frequently using nursery one language:
لَن تَنَالُوا۟ ٱلْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِن شَىْءٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌ
"Never will you attain piety until you spend [in the way of Allah] from that which you love. And whatever you spend - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it." 📚Aal-e-Imran 3:92

Sawda was also generous when it came to other people’s emotional needs. Sawdah, being attuned to others’ needs, gave up her day with the Prophet to Nana Aisha (r.a.) because she knew of their great love and that she herself had less need of companionship since she had reached old age.
Nana Aisha said about Saudah, *“never did I find any woman more loving to me than Sawda bint Zam’a. I wished I could be exactly like her …”*. 📚Muslim
