The Importance of rectifying our intention.
Alhamdulillah, Today is thursday and it is sunnah to fast on this day as the prophet salla Allahu alayhi wasalam used to fast on that day.
Rectifying our intentions in every deed is important.
Allah s.w.t looks at our hearts and intentions before our deeds are accepted.
As reported in Hadith,
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah, who attributed it to the Prophet (ﷺ), said:
Allah does not look at your forms or your wealth, rather He looks at your deeds and your hearts.””
Sunan ibn Majah.
Vol. 5, Book 37, Hadith 4143.
In the hadith of Umar Ibn Khattab Radiya Allahu anhu,
Umar bin Al Khattab reported the Apostle of Allaah(ﷺ) as saying “Actions are to be judged only by intentionsand a man will have only what he intended. When one’s emigration is to Allaah and His Apostle, his emigration is to Allaah and His Apostle but his emigration is to a worldly end at which he aims or to a woman whom he marries , his emigration is to that for which he emigrated.
Sunan Abi Dawud 2201.
So this speech was delivered by the prophet when the companions where asked to make hijrah(migration), some wanted wealth, some wanted to marry so the prophet announced to them to rectify their intentions well before making the hijrah for there is reward.
Allah says,
An-Nisa' 4:97
Indeed, those whom the angels take [in death] while wronging themselves[1] - [the angels] will say, "In what [condition] were you?" They will say, "We were oppressed in the land." They [the angels] will say, "Was not the earth of Allāh spacious [enough] for you to emigrate therein?" For those, their refuge is Hell - and evil it is as a destination.
Anyone who has a means to migrate from oppression of his religion and does not do so is sinful.
One has to change to a place he can make and perform his religion well.
May Allah grants us wealth to protect our deen and shame. Aamin
