*Discussing Sawdah*
[[----- Part 5-of-8 -----]]---------------------------------
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Nana Saudah (r.a.) was of a very simple and pious womt. Her faith was unquestioning, so much so that whenever she heard something pious or beneficial, even once, she would adopt the practice resolutely. Her simplicity was an extremely venerable and especially admirable aspect of her character. Rather than comment on any instruction imparted by the Holy Prophet PBUH), or delay carrying it out, she would do her utmost to instantaneously act upon it, in accordance with her understanding.

Wife Total Obedience To Her Husband Is An Act of Worship
What every Muslimah has to do when she learns the ruling of Islam is to submit to it and believe in it even if she does not know the wisdom behind it. 📚[Surah al-Ahzaab - chapter 33 verse 36]
Also,
We should take note of the following points:
1 – The woman will be rewarded by Allah (swt) for her obedience to her husband.
2 – This obedience should not involve disobeying Allah. Yes. The Prophet (PBUH) said: *“There is no obedience to any created being if it involves disobedience towards the Creator.”* 📚Authentic Hadith
3 – Just as the husband has the right to be obeyed, Islam also tells him to treat his wife kindly. Evidence:📚[Sural al-Baqarah 2:228]
So,
Husbands should not mistreat or oppress his wife or issue harsh commands to her. Rather he should deal with her in a wise manner, and tell her to do things which are in her interests, his interests and the interests of the household, in a kind and gentle manner.
The Prophet (PBUH) said: *“The best of you is the one who is best to his wife, and I am the best of you to my wives.”* 📚Authentic
Now,
Another amusing incident took place between Nana A’ishah and Nana Saudah which ‘A’Isiah (r.a.) describes:
“Saudah (r.a.) came to our house. The Prophet (PBUH) was sitting between us in such a manner that he had one foot on her lap and the other one in my lap. I had made Harirah [a type of soup] for the Prophet (PBUH) which I also offered to Saudah (r.a.) but she didn’t eat it and kept refusing despite my insistence. I said, ‘I’m not letting you leave until you eat it, and if you don’t, I’m going to rub it on your face.’” When Saudah (r.a.) continuously refused, ‘A’ishah (r.a.) really did smear the sweet meat over Saudah’s face. When the Prophet (PBUH) saw Saudah (r.a.) in this amusing state, he could not control his laughter. Then with complete justice, he decided that Saudah (r.a.) should avenge herself and he removed his leg from her lap so that she could do so; and thus Saudah (r.a.) smeared Harirah on Nana A’ishah’s face. In the meantime, Umar’s (r.a.) voice was heard calling somebody and the Prophet (PBUH) thought that perhaps he wanted to come inside. He then instructed his wives, “Go and wash your faces.” The incident is indicative of the good natured ambience that characterised the household of the Prophet (PBUH).

Jealousy & Rivary Should Be Kicked Out of Our Homes
This reminds me of two touching stories. One these stories was narrated to me years ago:
STORY No 1
A sister once narrates:
*"This happened to me (my self). Few years back my first husband {may his soul rest in peace} whom I got my first 3 kids with, once told me that,, "he wants to help a poor widow with 2 kids by marrying her as a second wife. I changed completely since that day with him. When he noticed that he could not longer see my face again, he called me and told that he has dropped/cancelled the second wife issue. And since that day, I changed back to who I was. As Allah (swt) will show me that there is a pay-back day for selfish people......."*
