Being kind to our neighbours.
Alhamdulillah, being kind to our neighbours is part of the teachings of Islam
Allah says in Quran,
An-Nisa' 4:36
Worship Allāh and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your side,[1] the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allāh does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful,
Allah orders us to treat our neighbours good those close and those far away from us
And it was reported in hadiIbn 'Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Jibril kept on recommending that I treat my neighbours well until I thought that he would order me to treat them as my heirs.
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 104.
Jibril A.S used to come recommend the prophet to treat his neighbors well that he thought they would inherit from him after his death.
Ibn 'Umar said, "There was a time when no one was more entitled to a person's money than his Muslim brother. Now people love their dirhams and dinars more than their Muslim brother. I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'How many a neighbour will be broughttogether with his neighbour on the Day of Rising! He will say, "Lord, this man closed his door to me and refused to show me common kindness!"'"
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 111.
Today we don't have trust among our neighbors and wickedness to them as muslims.
It shows bad manners.
Jesus A.S when asked by a teacher of the law, the two greatest of the commandment.
Jesus said,
The two greatest of the law is,
Listen! O Israel! The lord our God is one and only
Worship the lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul.
And the next is to Love your neighbor as you would love yourself. Upon these two is what the law is.
The messenger of Allah s.a.w said,
Ibn 'Abbas informed Ibn az-Zubayr, "I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while his neighbor goes hungry.'"'"
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 112.
It is among the evil of a person to sleep satisfy and happy while his neighbor around the same house is sleeping hungry.
