*EPISODE 5️⃣ - Swearing With Other Than Allāh*
➖ ➖ ➖
Among the prohibited shirk-related deeds is swearing with other than Allāh. Like, swearing with the Prophet (ﷺ), or other than him from mankind, or swearing with al-Amānah (trust)— all of that are from the prohibited shirk-related deeds, due to the statement of the Prophet (ﷺ):
*_“Whoever swears with anything other than Allāh has ascribed a partner with Allāh.”_*
And Abū Dāwūd and At-Tirmidhī reported, with an authentic chain of narration, on the authority of ʿAbdullāh bn ʿUmar bn Al-Khaṭṭāb, may Allāh have mercy on them, that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
*_“Whoever swears with other than Allāh has disbelieved or ascribed a partner with Allāh.”_*
And it is authentically reported that he said:
*_“Whoever swears with al-Amānah is not from us.”_*
And the ḥādīths in this regard are many.
Swearing with other than Allāh is from the minor shirk with people of knowledge, so what is compulsory is to be cautious of it. And it is a means to major shirk. And likewise, saying: “What Allāh and so-and-so willed”, and “If not for Allāh and so-and-so”, and “This is from Allāh and so-and-so”. [Rather,] what is compulsory is to say: “What Allāh, then, so-and-so willed”, or “If not for Allāh, then so-and-so”, or “This is from Allāh, then, so-and-so”; due to what was authentically reported from him [i.e the Prophet] (ﷺ), that he said:
*_“Do not say: ‘What Allāh and so-and-so willed’, but say: 'What Allāh, then, so-and-so willed”_*
