*DU‘Ā, THE ESSENCE OF WORSHIP*

➖➖➖

*EPISODE 3⃣: Times when du‘ā are most likely to be answered*

➖➖➖

Below are some of the times mentioned in the Sunnah as the times du‘ā are most likely to be answered:

1️⃣ *The last third of the night*

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: _*"Our Lord, (ﷻ) comes down to the lowest heaven every night when the last third of the night is left, and He says: ‘Who will call upon Me, that I may answer him? Who will ask of Me, that I may give him? Who will ask Me for forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’"*_

(Al-Bukhaari, 1145)

2️⃣ *Following the prescribed prayers.*

It was said: “O Messenger of Allaah, which du‘ā is heard?” He said: _*“In the last third of the night, and following the prescribed prayers.”*_

(At-Tirmidhi, 3499)

There was some difference of scholarly opinion whether the phrase "دُبُرَ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْمَكْتُوبَاتِ" _dubur al-salawat al-maktubah_ (“following the prescribed prayers”) means before the salam or after it?

*Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymin* said:

_“What has been narrated of du‘ā following the prayer is before the salam and what has been narrated of dhikr following the prayer is after the Salam..."_

(Kitab al-Du‘ā by Shaykh Muhammad al-Hamad, p. 54)

3️⃣ *Between the adhan and the iqamah.*

The Prophet (ﷺ)  said: _*"A du‘ā offered between the adhan and iqamah is not rejected."*_

(Abu Dawud, 521)

4️⃣ *When rain falls.*

The Prophet (ﷺ) : _*“There are two which will not be rejected: du‘ā at the time of the call (to prayer) and when it is raining."*_

(Sahih al-Jami’, 3078).

5️⃣ *During the last hour after Asr on Friday.*

The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said: _*“Friday is twelve hours in which there is no Muslim who asks Allaah for something but He will give it to him, so seek the last hour after ‘Asr.”*_

(Abu Dawood, 1048)

6️⃣ *When drinking Zamzam water.*

The Prophet (ﷺ)  said: “Zamzam water is for that for which it is drunk.” (Sahih al-Jami’, 5502)

7️⃣ *When prostrating.*

The Prophet (ﷺ)  said: _*"The closest that a person is to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so make a lot of du‘ā then."*_ (Muslim, 482)

8️⃣ *When hearing the crowing of a rooster.*

The Prophet (ﷺ) said :_*“When you hear the crowing of a rooster, ask Allaah of His bounty, for he has seen an angel.”*_

(Bukhari, 2304)

9⃣ *Du‘ā when getting up in the night.*

The Prophet (ﷺ)  said: _*“Whoever awakens from the night and says:*_

_(There is no god but Allaah Alone, He has no partners, His is the Sovereignty, to Him belongs praise and He is over all things Capable. Glory be to Allaah, there is no (true) God but Allaah, and Allaah is Most Great and there is no power and no strength except with Allaah)_, then he says:

*اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي‏*

_Allaahumma ighfir li_

_(O Allaah, forgive me)_

_*or he makes du‘ā, his prayer will be answered, and if he does wudu and prays, his prayer will be accepted.”*_

(Al-Bukhari, 1154.)

🔟 *The prayer of people after the departure of a deceased soul.*

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: _*“When the soul is taken, the gaze follows it.”... “Do not pray for anything but good for yourselves, for the angels say Amin to whatever you say.”*_

(Muslim. 2732.)

1️⃣1️⃣ *Du‘ā for one who is sick.*

The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ)  said: _*"When you visit a sick person, say good things, for the angels say Amin to whatever you say…"*_

(Muslim, 919)

O Allaah, help us remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner.

*آمِيْن*

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm athalaatha, 3rd day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Tuesday, 26th August 2025. *_THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF_*. BismilLah.  Islam encourages Muslims in general to stand out among people, readily distinguishable by their dress, appearance and behaviour, so that they will be a good example, worthy of the great message that they bring to humanity. According to the hadith narrated by the great Sahabi Ibn al-Hanzaliyyah, the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) told his Companions, when they were travelling to meet some brothers in faith: "You are going to visit your brothers, so repair your saddles and make sure that you are dressed well, so that you will stand out among people like an adornment, for ALLAH (SWT) does not love ugliness." Reported by Imam Abu Dawud, 4/83, in Kitab al-libas, bab ma ja'a fi isbal al-izar. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) considered an unkempt and careless appearance, and scruffy clothes and furnishings, to be...
