DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum As-Sabt, 17th day of Dhul Hijjah (Saturday, 16th July 2022). *_ZIKIR AFTER SALAAT, FIRST THING FIRST_*. BismilLah.
Its a sad reality that some imams and individuals will just start making dua after the final Tasleem and ignore what the Messenger of ALLAH sallallahu alaihi wasallam thought us to do after salaat.
Reported by Abu Hurayrah(RA) from the Messenger of ALLAH (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him): “Whoever glorifies ALLAH (says Subhaan ALLAH) thirty-three times after each prayer, and praises ALLAH (says Al-hamdu Lillaah) thirty-three times, and magnifies ALLAH (says Allaahu akbar) thirty-three times, this makes ninety-nine, then to complete one hundred says Laa ilaaha ILL-ALLAAH wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer (There is no god except ALLAH Alone, with no partner, HIS is the power and HIS is the praise, and HE is Able to do all things) – his sins will be forgiven even if they are like the foam of the sea.” (Reported by Muslim, 939).
I'm not saying the dua after the fard salaat is not right but let's follow the sunnah because ignoring the sunnah means we loses lots of rewards and may even be sinful. You may notice from most masjids that after the imam finishes making dua people just stand up and leaves the masjid without the above zikir why because of the jamaat dua after the salaat which is supposed to be actually done individually not necessarily jamaat. The jamaat dua just after salaat by the imam destruct those praying and it makes people not to make the above sunnah zikir. The recommended sunnah way is for the imam to remain silent making his own zikir for the followers to make their zikir above and for late comers to finish their salaat then if the imam decides to make dua later for the community etc thats ok not forbidden but don't substitute permissible act to the recommended act. Hope you understand me.
*_May ALLAH aid us through our little efforts to please HIM and follow the teachings of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam strictly_*. Aameen.
