 *_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaumul Ahad | 5th day of Swafar, 1448 AH | Sunday, 19th July, 2026. *_CAN THE WIFE SEEK OR INITIATE A DIVORCE?_*. BismilLah. Islam gives a wife the right to seek or initiate the end of a marriage when there is a VALID REASONS. This can happen through several means, the most well-known being khulʿ (where the wife requests a divorce, often by returning the mahr) or through an Islamic judge or authority who can dissolve the marriage. ALLAH Azzawajal says: "...If you fear that they will not be able to keep within the limits of ALLAH, then there is no blame upon either of them concerning that by which she ransoms herself..." (Qur'an 2:229). This verse is the foundation for khulʿ, where a wife seeks release from the marriage. The Sunnah Confirms This Right. BismilLah.  ALLAH Azzawajal has actually promised to bless both couples After a peaceful Separation. ALLAH Azzawajal says: "But if they separate, ALLAH will enrich each of them from HIS abundance. And ALLAH is Ever-Encompassing and Wise." (Qur'an 4:130). Lesson Divorce is not always the end of happiness. Sometimes separation is ALLAH'S Mercy, opening doors to peace, healing, and better opportunities for both spouses. ALLAH Azzawajal says: "...And do not forget graciousness between yourselves.  FAJR REMINDER: THE ELOQUENT VOICE OF ISLĀM By: Umm Affān Ṣafar 3, 1448 (18-July-2026) This morning, let us reflect on another remarkable man whose heart was opened to Islām through the recitation of the Qur'ān. Allāhu Akbar! He was Thābit Ibn Qays Al-Anṣārī (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu). Thābit belonged to the Khazraj tribe. When the Prophet (ﷺ) sent Muṣ‘ab Ibn ‘Umayr (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) to call the people of Madīnah to Islām, Thābit listened to his recitation of the Qur'ān. The beauty of Muṣ‘ab’s voice, together with the calm and captivating rhythm of his recitation, deeply moved him. More importantly, the powerful message of the Qur'ān touched his heart and mind, leading him to embrace Islām. Thus, he became one of the earliest Muslims in Madīnah. This teacher wants to see which students work hard and which are lazy. So, he prepares regular tests. Why? So that no student can later say, "You were unfair to us. You favored one student over another." Also, tests push us to prepare and study well. A wise teacher also gives different tests to different classes. A young student is not tested like an older student. Allah (swt) is the most fair and wise. He will test each person according to what they have been given.  FAJR REMINDER: THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE KA‘BAH By: Umm Affān Ṣafar 2, 1448 (17-July-2026) Last Friday, I spoke about how Allāh unites the entire Ummah through the Ka‘bah. Wherever Muslims may be, they all turn towards one Qiblah—the direction of the Ka‘bah—in every Ṣalāt, worshipping the One True God, Allāh. This morning, our focus is on the four corners of the Ka‘bah: the Black Stone Corner (Rukn Aswad), the Yemeni Corner (Rukn al-Yamānī), the Iraqi Corner (Rukn al-‘Irāqī), and the Syrian Corner (Rukn ash-Shāmī). During Ṭawāf (circumambulation), the Prophet (ﷺ) only interacted with two of these corners: the Black Stone Corner and the Yemeni Corner. Regarding the Black Stone Corner, the Sunnah is clear. Whenever possible, the Prophet (ﷺ) would touch and kiss the Black Stone. In such cases, Islam permits divorce, not as a preferred option, but as a last resort, while commanding that it be carried out with justice, kindness, and dignity. Across different places today, some Muslims, during moments of fear, hardship, illness, or even prosperity, direct their hearts and voices to the dead—people they regard as saints or righteous servants of Allāh. They plead with them for help, seek their intervention, and ask them to fulfil needs that only the Lord of the worlds has the power to fulfil. Such requests are not ordinary words. They are supplications, and supplication (Du’ā‘) is (an act of) Ibādah (worship). Every sincere supplication is an expression of humility, dependence, hope, and trust. These are acts of worship that belong exclusively to Allāh.  FAJR REMINDER: THE GREATEST WRONG AGAINST ALLĀH By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 30, 1448 (15-July-2026) The second class of the nullifiers of Islām and Eemān is DENIAL OF ALLĀH’S RIGHT TO BE WORSHIPPED OR WORSHIPPING ANYTHING OR ANYONE ALONG WITH HIM. This category deals with the gravest of all sins: Shirk—associating partners with Allāh in worship. It includes directing acts of worship to the sun, the moon, the stars, trees, Shayṭān, or any other created being while neglecting the worship of Allāh, the One Who created them all. Reflect for a moment. The One Who created the darkness of the night, the brightness of the day, the radiant sun, and the moon that reflects its light is the only One deserving of worship. "And other faces, that Day, will be covered with dust," 41. "Overwhelmed by darkness and humiliation." 42. "Those are the disbelievers, the wicked." Commentary: In yesterday's reminder, we studied about the joyful faces after judgement. In contrast, another group will have faces covered with dust, darkened with grief, disgrace, and humiliation.  FAJR REMINDER: DENYING ALLĀH'S EXCLUSIVE LORDSHIP By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 29, 1448 (14-July-2026) Not everyone who affirms the Existence of Allāh truly affirms His Lordship as it deserves to be affirmed. Sadly, some believe in Allāh's Existence, yet also claim that certain so-called great saints—referred to in Ṣūfī terminology as “Qutb”—possess authority over the affairs of the universe. Such a belief contradicts the fundamental creed that Allāh (alone) is the Wakīl (Trustee, Disposer of affairs, Guardian, etc.) over all creation, and that everything occurs only by His Will, Knowledge, and Decree. Ironically, this belief is even more misguided than that of the pagan Arabs at the time of the Prophet (ﷺ). Although they associated partners with Allāh in worship, they never denied that He alone controlled the affairs of the heavens and the earth. Now,  Imagine if Allah (swt) put us all in Paradise today. He then says, "You get this very small house. But you over there, you get that giant, beautiful mansion." We would all ask, "Why?  FAJR REMINDER: THE PEAK OF ARROGANCE By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 28, 1448 (13-July-2026) Atheism is not the only path by which a person denies the Existence of Allāh. Among the most outrageous acts that nullify one's Islām and Eemān is for a human being to claim the right of divinity, declaring himself to be God (Allāh) or worthy of worship which belongs to Allāh alone. Such a claim is the peak of arrogance, for it is a direct assault upon the exclusive Right of the Creator. This was the crime of Fir‘aun, although he was never a believer. Blinded by power, intoxicated by authority, and deceived by his own pride, he dared to utter the words that no created being has any right to say. Allāh (ﷻ) informs us that he declared: “I am your lord, most high.” [Sūrah An-Nāzi‘āt (79): 24] That statement did not come suddenly.
