Every prayer, every charity, and every act of kindness is like a strong, healthy tree growing in that garden. But there is a fire that can burn that entire garden to ashes in seconds. That fire is your tongue. Yes! When you speak about a Muslim in their absence in a way they would dislike, you are digging a grave. Yes, you are digging a grave for your own good deeds. You then throw your beautiful deeds into that grave and watch them burn. They can disappear as quickly as fire consumes dry leaves. It does not matter whether what you said is true. If the person would dislike hearing it, it is backbiting (Gheebah) . It is a grave sin. But if what you said is not true , then it is even worse. Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm. Let's continue with our topic from yesterday's reminder. The verse establishes two complete years as the period of suckling and nursing. The wording, “for whoever wishes to complete the nursing,” shows that two years represents the completion of the normal nursing period . Classical tafsīr, including the explanation of Ibn Kathīr, understands the verse as directing mothers towards completing the period of suckling for two years.   Take It or Leave It بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ Life is hard. We all have problems. We worry about money, health, family, and the future. Sometimes, we feel stuck. We feel as though nothing will ever get better. But Allah (SWT) has given us a beautiful gift—a direct means of turning to Him. It is called Du‘ā . Think about this profound statement reported from our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ): “Nothing repels the divine decree except supplication, and nothing increases the lifespan except righteousness.” 📚 Jāmi‘ at-Tirmidhī 2139 What does this mean for you and me? It means that your Du‘ā is not meaningless. It is an act of worship and one of the means through which Allah brings about what He has decreed. When you raise your hands and call upon Allah, you are turning to the One who controls every affair. One may remain silent, recite some Tasbīḥ, Qur’an, Durūd Sharīf, or make Du‘ā. If someone wishes, he may also pray Nafl individually.   FAJR REMINDER: WHEN EVERY WARNING IS REJECTED Rabī' Al-Akhīr 4, 1448 (16 September 2026) What happens when warning after warning is ignored? What remains when signs are shown, punishments descend, and yet the heart refuses to bend? Fir’aun and his people were given repeated warnings. They witnessed one sign after another, yet instead of returning to the truth, they persisted in rebellion and transgression. Even after successive punishments afflicted them, Fir’aun still refused to release the Banī Isrā’īl from his grip. But when Allāh decrees deliverance, no tyrant can prevent it. The night prayer is one of the greatest voluntary acts of worship, and the last third of the night is especially virtuous.   FAJR REMINDER: WHEN SIGNS ARE NOT ENOUGH Rabī‘ Al-Akhīr 3, 1448 AH | 15 September 2026 There are hearts so deeply imprisoned by arrogance that even when the truth becomes unmistakably clear, they still refuse to submit. Signs come. Warnings follow. Hardships descend, and relief is granted. Yet the heart remains stubborn. The story of Fir‘aun and his people is one of the clearest examples of what happens when people repeatedly encounter the Signs of Allāh but choose defiance over guidance. Fir‘aun and his people were afflicted with years of drought and a shortage of fruits and crops so that they might take heed and return to the truth. Allāh ﷻ says: وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِالسِّنِينَ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ “And indeed We punished the people of Fir‘aun with years of drought and shortness of fruits (crops, etc.), that they might remember (take heed).” [Sūrah Al-A‘rāf 7:130] The purpose of the trial was not merely to punish them....

Let us reflect on two simple but powerful truths. Truth No. 1: Your Provision Is Already Known to Allah Your Rizq —your food, wealth, opportunities, marriage, and other provisions—are all within the knowledge and decree of Allah سبحانه وتعالى. Nothing that Allah has decreed for you will miss you, and nothing that He has not decreed for you will reach you. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Know that what has befallen you could not have missed you, and what has missed you could not have befallen you.” So does this mean we should stop making Du‘ā ? Absolutely not! Ayyub (عليه السلام) was tested with severe hardship. He lost his wealth and suffered tremendous affliction, yet he did not abandon his Lord. His trial became a testimony to the strength of his faith. The Qur’an records his humble supplication: وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ “And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, ‘Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.’” — Qur’an 21:83 Notice the beauty of his supplication.   FAJR REMINDER: WHEN THE TRUTH IS CALLED MISCHIEF Rabīʿ Al-Akhīr 2, 1448 AH — 14 September 2026 When Truth Is Misrepresented How far can a person go when hatred of the truth takes control of the heart? When a person allows arrogance, desires, and attachment to falsehood to overcome submission to the Guidance of Allāh, he may eventually reach a dangerous state in which truth appears to him as falsehood, while falsehood is presented as truth. The story of Firʿawn and his people provides a powerful example of this reality. When Prophet Mūsā (ʿalayhis-salām) came with clear signs from his Lord and called Firʿawn and his people to the worship of Allāh, they did not simply reject his message. They attempted to suppress it, intimidate those who believed, and prevent the truth from spreading. The chiefs of Firʿawn's people even described the call of Mūsā (ʿalayhis-salām) as something that would cause “mischief” in the land: وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَىٰ...
