The dignity of the Sahaba.
Alhamdulillah, the Sahaba meaning companions are the best Among the creations and ummah.
Allah says,
Aal-e-Imran 3:110
You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allāh. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.
The best of generations evolved from mankind are the Sahaba and the reason was because they enjoin what is good and forbade what is evil.
Allah says in Quran,
At-Taubah 9:100
And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhājireen[1] and the Anṣār[2] and those who followed them with good conduct - Allāh is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.
Allah s.w.t is pleased with the companions who were the foremost in the Deen.
And among them, the best was AbuBakr As Siddiqui.
Allah says in Quran,
At-Taubah 9:40
If you do not aid him [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)] - Allāh has already aided him when those who disbelieved had driven him out [of Makkah] as one of two,[1] when they were in the cave and he [i.e., Muḥammad (ﷺ)] said to his companion, "Do not grieve; indeed Allāh is with us." And Allāh sent down His tranquility upon him and supported him with soldiers [i.e., angels] you did not see and made the word[2] of those who disbelieved the lowest,[3] while the word of Allāh[4] - that is the highest. And Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise.
This companion Allah S.W.T was talking of was AbuBakr when he and the prophet wen to seek refuge in the cave of thawr.
It is not allowed for a Muslim to insult the Sahaba(Companions).
Allah praised them again,
Al-Fath 48:29
Muḥammad is the Messenger of Allāh; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in prayer], seeking bounty from Allāh and [His] pleasure. Their sign is in their faces from the effect of prostration [i.e., prayer]. That is their description in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers - so that He [i.e., Allāh] may enrage by them[1] the disbelievers. Allāh has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward.
