Volume 6, Book 60, Number 340:

Narrated Ibn Mas'ud:

(regarding) the Verse: 'And you have not been screening against yourself lest your ears, and your eyes and your skins should testify against you..' (41.22) While two persons from Quraish and their brother-in-law from Thaqif (or two persons from Thaqif and their brother-in-law from Quraish) were in a house, they said to each other, "Do you think that Allah hears our talks?" Some said, "He hears a portion thereof" Others said, "If He can hear a portion of it, He can hear all of it." Then the following Verse was revealed:

'And you have not been screening against yourself lest your ears, and your eyes and your skins should testify against you...' (41.22)

Two persons from Quraish and one from Thaqif were once conversing and argued if Allah hears all that they say. One was of the opinion that Allah hears some for which the other said if HE hears some, then he hears all. It was at this instance this verse came about reminding them they should even first consider that their body parts will testify on their behalf since they didn't do anything to stop them. And if they couldn't  screen theirselves, then how can the All-knowing Allah not even not hear of all that they said.

After the Battle of Badr, a brother of an infidel/Quraish/disbelieve was taken as a captive for which he wanted to Head to take him. He was with Abu Sufyan around the ka'aba and complained to him of his brother's situation but wanted a wealthy person who will take the task of looking after his family if he take the risk if getting rid of Prophet Muhammad pbuh. Abu Sufyan took that task for which the man went to Prophet's place armed.

On reaching there, the first person to see him was Umar. Umar forsaw  that he was to a develish thing for which he was captured and brought to Prophet. When asked his mission, he lied by saying he only came to bargain for the release of his brother. Prophet then asked what are those arms for and he was speechless. Prophet then revealed to him his conversation yesterday with Abu Sufyan and their aggreement. He was amazed and said, Prophet is truly a Prophet cus none was there during their conversation. He wasted no time in Accepting Islam. These revelations were only revealed to him from Allah who knew everything.

*Let's continue in a brief commentary on these verses*👇.                         [11:84] Hūd-

And We (sent) to (the people of) Madyan their (kinship) brother Shu‘ayb. He said: ‘O my people, worship Allah. You have no God but He. And do not give short measure and weight. Indeed, I see you prosperous, but I fear for you the torment of a day which is about to encompass (you).

And, O my people, give full measure and full weight with justice, and do not give people their things less than their due. And do not spread destruction in the land by becoming mischief-mongers.

And when Our command (of torment) came, We saved Shu‘ayb and the believers with him through Our mercy, but a dreadful blast seized the wrongdoers. So they reached the morning (as dead) lying prostrate in their homes.

The people of Madyan were Arabs who lived in the country of Ma'an, part of which today is greater Syria. They were a greedy people who did not believe that Allah existed and who led wicked lives. They gave short measure, praised their goods beyond their worth, and hid their defects. They lied to their customers, thereby cheating them. Allah sent His Prophet Shu'aib armed with many miracles. Shu'aib preached to them, begging them to be mindful of Allah's favors and warning them of the consequences of their evil ways, but they only mocked him. Shu'aib remained calm as he reminded them of his kinship to them and that what he was doing was not for his personal gain.

*Let's continue on a commentary on these verses*👇.                                               [2:246] Al-Baqarah-

(O Beloved!) Have you not seen the group of the Children of Israel who came after Musa (Moses)? When they said to their Prophet: ‘Appoint for us a king so that we may fight in the cause of Allah (under his command),’ the Prophet said (to them): ‘What, if you desist from fighting, once it is prescribed for you!’ They said: ‘What ails us that we should not fight in the cause of Allah when we have been driven away from our homes and children?’ But when fighting (against oppression and aggression) was made obligatory for them, all of them turned away, except a few. And Allah knows the wrongdoers full well.
___*PAGE 10*___.

And their Prophet said to them: ‘Allah has appointed for you Talut (Saul) as a king.’ They said: ‘How can he reign over us, whereas we have greater right than him to rule, and he has also not been granted affluence?’ (The Prophet) said: ‘Surely, Allah has chosen him above you, and has given him more affluent knowledge and vigour; and Allah (entrusts) with His kingdom whom He pleases and Allah is Infinite, All-Knowing.’

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm athalaatha, 3rd day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Tuesday, 26th August 2025. *_THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF_*. BismilLah.  Islam encourages Muslims in general to stand out among people, readily distinguishable by their dress, appearance and behaviour, so that they will be a good example, worthy of the great message that they bring to humanity. According to the hadith narrated by the great Sahabi Ibn al-Hanzaliyyah, the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) told his Companions, when they were travelling to meet some brothers in faith: "You are going to visit your brothers, so repair your saddles and make sure that you are dressed well, so that you will stand out among people like an adornment, for ALLAH (SWT) does not love ugliness." Reported by Imam Abu Dawud, 4/83, in Kitab al-libas, bab ma ja'a fi isbal al-izar. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) considered an unkempt and careless appearance, and scruffy clothes and furnishings, to be...
