*يَكَادُ الْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَـرَهُمْ كُلَّمَآ أَضَآءَ لَهُم مَّشَوْاْ فِيهِ وَإِذَآ أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُواْ وَلَوْ شَآءَ اللَّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَـرِهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ*

*“The lightning almost snatches away their sight.*
*Every time it lights [the way] for them, they walk therein; but when darkness comes over them, they stand [still].*
*And if Allah had willed, He could have taken away their hearing and their sight. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.”*

Due to the hypocrisy in their hearts, they were unable to see the truth of Islam. It seemed as if someone has snatched away their sight. Because they are only feigning Islam and are not truly believers they follow the commandments only for some time.
▪ Whenever they were required to make a sacrifice such as going on Jihad or giving in the way of Allah they would change their path. 
Whenever the Muslims won a battle, the hypocrites would appear to collect their share from the victory but when Islam suffered loss they would revert to their disbelief.

*True characteristics of the hypocrites.*
They make a verbal declaration of emaan but when it comes to performing deeds they don’t act because their hearts are filled with disbelief and doubts.
👉 _A person who has doubts about Allah the Prophet, the angels or the Hereafter, such a person cannot be considered a believer even if he verbally declares himself to be a Muslim.

*Let's continue on this verse👇*.                                         *Al-Baqarah Ayah 21*

*يَـأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اعْبُدُواْ رَبَّكُمُ الَّذِىْ خَلَقَكُمْ وَالَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ*  

*“O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous"*

_This ayah is a call to all of mankind_
_Allah mentioned His Oneness in divinity and stated that He has favored His servants by bringing them to life after they did not exist._
_*This Ayat is an argument for the existence of the Creator*_
It gives the clear concept of
1.  *Tawheed al-Uluhiyyah (To believe that none has the right to be worshipped other than Allah)*
2. *The Oneness of Allah in truth*
_(for example praying, invoking, asking for help from the unseen, swearing, slaughtering sacrifices, giving charity, fasting, pilgrimage for Allah alone).

● Taqwa in this ayah means *‘protect*’ (i.e. ‘ward off’ harm from) your self. 
👉 _This is the significance of the basic declaration of the Islamic creed, or لا إله إلا الله (La illaha IllAllah- there is no God but Allah)._
● But, obviously, it is not enough to affirm the Oneness of God orally; one must have a complete certitude, and must also have the truth always present close to one’s heart.

*Tawheed is to see Allah as one, and not merely to say that He is one.*
_Today, the number of those who can respect this basic formula of the Islamic creed runs to millions all over the world – far more than it ever did, but mostly it is just an expense of breath:_

_*Our lives do not show the color of Tawheed;*_
● or otherwise, they should have been like their forefathers whowere daunted neither by wealth nor by power,
● awed neither by numbers nor by pomp and show to turn their back upon the Truth.

●  when a prophet could all by himself stand up against the world, and say: 
*“Then plot against me, and give me no respite!” (7:195).*

_If the blessed Companions (radiallahu anhum) and their successors (rahmatullahi alaihim) came to dominate the world in a few years......_
👉 _*the secret lay in this Tawheed, correctly understood and practiced.*

*وَإِن كُنتُمْ فِى رَيْبٍ مِّمَّا نَزَّلْنَا عَلَى عَبْدِنَا فَأْتُواْ بِسُورَةٍ مِّن مِّثْلِهِ وَادْعُواْ شُهَدَآءَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـدِقِينَ*
*And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful.”*
                                                                            *Ayah 24*
*فَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلُواْ وَلَن تَفْعَلُواْ فَاتَّقُواْ النَّارَ الَّتِى وَقُودُهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَـفِرِينَ* 
*“But if you do not – and you will never be able to – then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers*".

*The Qur’an is the Greatest Miracle given to the Prophet:*
_The Sahihs record that Abu Hurayrah said that the Prophet salAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said_
_*“Every Prophet was given a miracle, the type of which brings mankind to faith.*_
_*What I was given is a revelation that Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala sent down to me. Yet, I hope that I will have the most following on the Day of Resurrection.” (Muslim)*_
👉The Prophet salAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam was also aided with innumerable signs and indications that testify to the truth of his prophethood.
