_*Second, we react to almost anything that happens against us.* *Our reactions are not bringing us any honor rather we have made the lives of other Muslims difficult and made our own mockery*

_A person’s personality changes by sitting with the righteous company and learned people._
_Seek out the people of knowledge and learn from them. Do not follow the crowd.

*وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ الْغَمَامَ وَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوٰى ۖ كُلُوا مِن طَيِّبٰتِ مَا رَزَقْنٰكُمْ ۖ وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلٰكِن كَانُوٓا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ*

*And We shaded you with clouds and sent down to you manna and quails, [saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have provided you."* *And they wronged Us not - but they were [only] wronging themselves.*

_After Allah mentioned the calamities that He saved the Children of Israel from, He mentioned the favors that He granted them, saying,_
▪. *And We shaded you with clouds.*
This Ayah mentions the white clouds that provided shade for the Children of Israel, protecting them from the sun s heat during their years of wandering.
▪. _*The manna used to descend to them to the trees, and they used to eat whatever they wished of it.*_
The manna, which was whiter than milk and sweeter than honey, used to rain down on the Children of Israel, just as the snow falls, from dawn until sunrise.

▪. *As for the quail (Salwa) in question,* "The (Salwa) is a bird that looks like the quail". 'Ikrimah said that the Salwa is a bird in Paradise about the size of a sparrow. Qatadah said "The Salwa is a bird that is similar to a sparrow.
_*During that time, an Israelite could catch as many quails as was sufficient for that particular day, otherwise the meat would spoil.*_
On the sixth day, Friday, he would collect what is enough for the sixth and the seventh day, the Sabbath, during which one was not allowed to depart his home to seek anything.

_One of them would collect enough for that particular day, for if it remained more than that, it would spoil._
On the sixth day, Friday, one would collect enough for the sixth and the seventh day, which was the Sabbath during which one would not leave home to seek his livelihood, or for anything else. All this occurred in the wilderness.
▪ The type of manna that we know provides sufficient food when eaten alone, because it is nutritious and sweet.
▪ When manna is mixed with water, it becomes a sweet drink.
▪ It also changes composition when mixed with other types of food.

Allah said,
*(And they did not wrong Us but they wronged themselves)* means, `
_We commanded them to eat from what We gave them, and to perform the acts of worship_
*(but they rebelled).'*
_Yet, the Children of Israel rebelled, disbelieved and committed injustice against themselves, even though they saw the clear signs, tremendous miracles and extraordinary events.

[2:58] Al-Baqarah-الْبَقَرَة
"وَ  اِذۡ قُلۡنَا ادۡخُلُوۡا ہٰذِہِ الۡقَرۡیَۃَ فَکُلُوۡا مِنۡہَا حَیۡثُ شِئۡتُمۡ رَغَدًا وَّ ادۡخُلُوا الۡبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَّ قُوۡلُوۡا حِطَّۃٌ نَّغۡفِرۡ لَکُمۡ خَطٰیٰکُمۡ ؕ وَ سَنَزِیۡدُ الۡمُحۡسِنِیۡنَ ﴿۵۸﴾

And (remember) when We said: ‘Enter this city, and eat as much as you wish from wherever you desire, but enter (the city) gate prostrating and praying: (O our Lord!) We seek forgiveness (for all of our sins). We shall (then) forgive your (previous) sins and, (besides,) We shall bestow more (favours and blessings) upon the righteous.’

[5:21] Al-Māidah-الْمَآئِدَة
"یٰقَوۡمِ ادۡخُلُوا الۡاَرۡضَ الۡمُقَدَّسَۃَ الَّتِیۡ  کَتَبَ اللّٰہُ لَکُمۡ وَ لَا تَرۡتَدُّوۡا عَلٰۤی  اَدۡبَارِکُمۡ فَتَنۡقَلِبُوۡا خٰسِرِیۡنَ ﴿۲۱﴾

O my people! Enter the holy land (of Syria or Bayt al-Maqdis [Jerusalem]) which Allah has decreed for you, and do not turn back (in retreat), or you will turn back as losers.’

● The Children of Israel, however, true to their nature refused to obey their Prophet ‘alayhi salaam and said that they were too weak and exhausted to fight.
● Prophet Musa ‘alayhi salaam prayed to Allahsubhanahu wa ta’ala to cause a separation between him and his people.
They had repeatedly disobeyed and caused hurt to their prophet.
*The prophet’s du’a was obviously answered. And they were left to wander for forty years in the Sinai desert.*
Initially, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala had planned a blessing for them.
