the mother of Mary was Hannah.

 Story for reflection of Mary's mother.

Alhamdulillah, the mother of Mary was Hannah.

Hannah was a woman who feared Allah and was righteous woman.

When she became pregnant, she raised her hand and supplicated saying,

Aal-e-Imran 3:35

إِذۡ قَالَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتُ عِمۡرَٰنَ رَبِّ إِنِّي نَذَرۡتُ لَكَ مَا فِي بَطۡنِي مُحَرَّرࣰا فَتَقَبَّلۡ مِنِّيٓۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ

[Mention, O Muḥammad], when the wife of ʿImrān said, "My Lord, indeed I have pledged to You what is in my womb, consecrated [for Your service], so accept this from me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing."

The wife of Imran wanted a male child so he can worship Allah and dedicate his life to Allah.

But Allah s.w.t gave her a female child.

Allah says,

Aal-e-Imran 3:36

فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتۡهَا قَالَتۡ رَبِّ إِنِّي وَضَعۡتُهَآ أُنثَىٰ وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتۡ وَلَيۡسَ ٱلذَّكَرُ كَٱلۡأُنثَىٰۖ وَإِنِّي سَمَّيۡتُهَا مَرۡيَمَ وَإِنِّيٓ أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ

But when she delivered her, she said, "My Lord, I have delivered a female." And Allāh was most knowing of what she delivered, and the male is not like the female. "And I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge for her in You and [for] her descendants from Satan, the expelled [from the mercy of Allāh]."

But Allah gave her female and she named her Mary.

Now the lessons from here is that, Mary gave birth to Jesus A.S and became a great prophet.

Allah did not gave Hannah a male child but he gave her female and this female gave birth to a male and a great prophet.

A lesson is that sometimes what we want is not what Allah wants and he might gave what we desire among our future generation to come.

May Allah guides us and rectifies our affairs. Aamin
