Ibadah and what is it?

 Ibadah and what is it? 

Alhamdulillah, Ibadah is something broad and all forms of worship by saying, actions and intentions. 

All are worship. What we say with our tongue like proclamation the shahadayn is what makes us a muslim and acting upon it with the heart certain. This is what is called ibadah. 

And worship cannot be accepted by Allah except one do it according to the Shari'ah of Allah s.w.t which is from the Quran and also from the sunnah. 

This is what is referred as ibadah. 

If one is lacking, then than deed or action is rejected nomatter how it is. 

Because Allah sent the messengers to guide us on how to worship HIM not our whims and desires like how christians does. 

Allah says, 

Al-Baqarah 2:78

And among them are unlettered ones who do not know the Scripture except [indulgement in] wishful thinking, but they are only assuming.

One should bear in mind not to do an act of worship except one has knowledge of it and how Allah and his messenger, Muhammad salla Allaahu alayhi wasalam wants that ibadah to be done. 

Also ibadah is not accepted with ikhlas(sincerity) which is to do the ibadah for the sake and seeking the approval of Allah subhana wa ta'Ala alone and none other else. 

Allah says, 

Al-Kahf 18:110

Say, "I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed that your god is one God. So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord - let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone."
