ALLAH Azzawajal continues describing the extraordinary events of the Day of Judgment. The word "كُشِطَتْ (kushiṭat)" means to peel off, remove, uncover, or strip away, like removing the skin from an animal or rolling up a covering. The sky that appears vast, beautiful, and firmly established above us today will be removed by ALLAH Azzawajal. The familiar order of creation will come to an end, and the hidden realities of the Hereafter will become visible.  FAJR REMINDER: THE PRINCIPLE OF GRADUALISM By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 5, 1448 (20-June-2026) There are two migrations (Hijratayn) in Islām. The first took place when some of the companions (the early Muslims) migrated to Habasha (Abyssinia, present-day Ethiopia). The second occurred later when Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ), along with his companions, migrated from Makkah to Madīnah. By the Will of Allāh, this morning I wish to reflect on the second Hijrah and the invaluable lessons it offers the Muslims. These lessons are meant to strengthen our knowledge, increase our faith, and help us become better servants of Allāh. The primary purpose of the Prophet's Hijrah was to preserve Islām and provide an environment where it could flourish and spread. Commentary: After describing the dramatic changes in the universe and the gathering of creation from verses 1-9, ALLAH Azzawajal now turns our attention to individual accountability. The word "Aṣ-Ṣuḥuf" refers to the records in which the Angels have written every deed of every person throughout their lives. Nothing is omitted, not even the smallest action, word, intention, or glance.  On the Day of Judgment, these records will be opened and displayed before their owners. It says, "Do whatever feels right." It says, "You only live once, so enjoy your life to the fullest." Do not be fooled. These words are not your friends. They are traps. They are the whispers of the devil, wrapped in pretty paper. My People, We are not here to worship our feelings. We are here to worship Allah (swt). Think of your desires like a wild, hungry lion. If you let it loose without a chain, it will not play with you. It will attack you. It will eat you alive. This is why we must put a strong leash on our desires. The leash is Islam. We must pull it back. We must control our haram desires. We must never let it control us.  FAJR REMINDER: PRAYING AT HOME DURING HEAVY RAIN By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 4, 1448 (19-June-2026) It is well established that performing the five daily prayers in congregation at the Masjid is obligatory upon every man who is able to do so, according to the stronger scholarly opinion. Nevertheless, the Sharī‘ah, in its mercy and wisdom, recognizes certain legitimate excuses that exempt a person from attending the congregation. Among these valid excuses is rainfall that causes significant hardship, such as soaking one's clothes. The concession applies when heavy rain causes genuine harm or difficulty, whether by drenching one's clothing, exposing one to severe cold, or making the pathways muddy and hazardous. In such circumstances, a Muslim is permitted to perform the prayer at home instead of attending the Masjid. Ibn ‘Umar reported: The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) used to order the caller to say on a cold, rainy night, “Alā ṣallū fī ar-riḥāl (Surely, pray in your homes).” [Ṣaḥīḥ ...

Verse 8 وَإِذَا الْمَوْءُودَةُ سُئِلَتْ "And when the girl who was buried alive is asked." Before Islam, some Arabs buried baby girls alive out of shame or fear of poverty. ALLAH Azzawajal honours these innocent victims by publicly questioning them. Verse 9 بِأَيِّ ذَنبٍ قُتِلَتْ "For what sin was she killed?" The question is not for information but to expose the criminality of the oppressors. The child committed no crime. Never wrong another person. Fear ALLAH Azzawajal regarding the weak and vulnerable.  FAJR REMINDER: SINCERITY IS THE THIRD By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 3, 1448 (18-June-2026) The next condition of Lā ilāha ill-Allāh is Ikhlāṣ (Sincerity). Sincerity is the foundation upon which the testimony of faith stands. It requires that every act of worship be performed solely for the Sake of Allāh, free from any trace of showing off, hypocrisy, or associating partners with Him. A believer must purify both his intentions and actions, directing them exclusively to Allāh. As Allāh (ﷻ) says: “So worship Allāh (Alone) by doing religious deeds sincerely for Allāh's Sake only, (and not to show off, and not to set up rivals with Him in worship). Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allāh only.” [Sūrah Az-Zumar (39): 2-3] True sincerity demands complete reliance upon Allāh (Alone). BismilLah.  Let's continue with our studies of suurah At-Takwīr. Verse 5 وَإِذَا الْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ "And when the wild beasts are gathered together." Animals that normally flee from one another will be gathered by ALLAH Azzawajal. This demonstrates the magnitude of that Day when every creature will be brought before its Creator. Verse 6 وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ "And when the seas are set ablaze (or overflow)." The oceans, which cover most of the earth, will undergo dramatic changes. Classical scholars explained this as the seas overflowing, while others mentioned they will be ignited by ALLAH'S command. This is another sign of the complete transformation of the universe. But the results? They will not be given to us until the Day of Judgement. My People, Allah (swt) has given us a special organ in our body that decides if we pass or fail. This organ is the heart. Yes. It is the most important part of us. This heart is what we use to sin in private. It is the organ that whispers to us when we are alone. It tells us, "No one is watching. Go ahead. Do it." Actually, It is easy to be a good person in front of others. We pray, we give charity, we speak kindly. People see us and think, "Masha'Allah, what a good Muslim." But how are we when we are alone? The orderly universe that we know today will collapse as ALLAH Azzawajal prepares creation for the Final Judgment.  FAJR REMINDER: CERTAINTY IS THE SECOND By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 2, 1448 (17-June-2026) Undoubtedly, the foundation of true faith is to firmly believe that none has the right to be worshipped except Allāh. A person cannot truly claim this belief unless he is convinced that the only path to Jannah and the Pleasure of Allāh is Islām—the complete submission to the Will of Allāh. Unfortunately, some who identify as Muslims have allowed doubt to creep into their hearts regarding this fundamental principle. They believe that those who die upon religions other than Islām—submitting themselves to someone or something besides Allāh Alone—may still attain Jannah or earn the Pleasure of Allāh. Such a belief directly contradicts the clear teachings of Islām. BismilLah.  Alhamdulillah, today marks the 1st of Muharram, the beginning of a new Islamic year. Let's pause our Qur’an studies today to welcome Muharram.  Muharram is one of the four sacred months that ALLAH Azzawajal has specially honoured. Sa’d Ibn Abī Waqqās reported: The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said, “Four things are part of happiness: a righteous spouse, a spacious dwelling, a righteous neighbor, and a comfortable mount.
