FAJR REMINDER: ABOUT IFṬĀR AND SAḤŪR By: Umm Affān Ramaḍān 5, 1447 (22-February-2026) O Muslims! Let's distinguish our fasting from that of non-Muslims, particularly the People of the Book, by taking Saḥūr (the pre-fasting meal) during the final part of the night. It is not a sign of Taqwā to claim that one can fast without it or to deem those who consume it as weak. ‘Amr Ibn Al-Aas (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) stated: “The difference between our fasting and the fasting of the People of the Book is eating Saḥūr.” [Ṣaḥiḥ Muslim 1096] Neglecting Saḥūr is an act of disobedience to the Prophet (ﷺ).
